i laughed at that one too!

I've never spent that much on a rope or a pair of shoes (except ski shoes) but I'd consider it for those.

I've been looking up ropes, for up to 300 days a year since before the summer of love. The economics of this don't seem that out of line... I really didn't appreciate this until I tried them yesterday.

"phylp's ratcheting in every millimeter of progress"

Ah, yes. The top-rope ratchet is a fine art. The belayer must not put any tension on the rope, but shall take up that minute bit of slack that appears with herculean effort by the climber, lest precious ground be lost.

Hey guys- I'm thinking of sending some wet suits and life preservers your way. Could you send me your chalk, you won't need it this year.

My wetsuit isn't much use either. Apart from the blown-out waves, SF has a joint septic and storm sewer system, and it's sketchy to get in the water for a couple of days after big rains...

I'm in for PGSF.

I can't make it this weekend, but thanks, Jay, for posting.

Is anyone NOT going to J Tree next weekend? It sounds like the best benefit event & party ever but...

I'm committed to SF.

Not going to Josh next weekend, going farther afield to try out what all this crack practice is good for.
