From upstream ...
"After looking at the asset list of Rupert Murdoch, thanks for the link, I am canceling my subscription to National Geographic."
No Studly, don't do it! It's the National Geographic Channel that Fox owns (50%), not the magazine! Support the good guys.
As for Fox News, if it were billed as a "reality" show, we'd all be laughing. But what's scary is that even if we made Fox worshipers watch how Fox News distorts the facts and how it is just a GOP propaganda machine, they are still unable to understand, hypnotized is what they are.
That is a truly scary thing.

Watch the documentary detailing Fox's outrageous betrayal of the principles of journalism online for free
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6737097743434902428#
"Outfoxed examines how media empires, led by Rupert Murdoch's Fox News, have been running a "race to the bottom" in television news. This film provides an in-depth look at Fox News and the dangers of ever-enlarging corporations taking control of the public's right to know."

Don't censor MSNBC, CNN, CBS, Washington Post, New York Times,
and yes, nor Fox News neither.
I agree that censorship is wrong and Fox News has a constitutional right to lie and prevaricate all it wants, which is what it does. However, let's not mistake Fox News for news. It's a bunch of pundits sitting around providing commentary as if it were news, or a forum for Glen Beck to come and share his spew (even though he already has a show of his own). In truth, Fox News far more closely resembles The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, which are merely entertainment shows with a news theme.

why did the Liberals trash the National Mall during Obama's oath
taking and Becks crowd left it clean and spotless Aug 28 , 2010
Could it be because there were a few million more people (none of whom were tourists just happening by)? I agree that it's a sad thing people can't adopt the "pack it in/pack it out" ethic, but it's endemic to every group, not just "Liberals". What did the Mall look like after Bush's oath?
There was a great interview on PBS this morning with Bill Moyers. He laid it on the line about Fox & the Bush propaganda machine as well as the current dissatisfaction with Obama.

Skip, prove your statement that President Obama said that Fox News should
not be listened to.
You said it. I think you flat made it up.
Prove it.
Who the f*#k are you? I find you a drug addled clown. No more, no less.
I don't care what the wording is, if you don't understand that Barack Obama went after Fox news you are an idiot.
Oh, that's right, you are an idiot. So, never mind.
Skip
Par for the course. Skippitypoo gets called out on yet another of his stupid lies. He can't provide proof so he goes on Repugnicant attack dog mode. Calling folks drug-addled because he can't prove his spew. Then he has the arrogance to say he doesn't care what the words were, It's what Obama meant. BWAHAHAHAHA!
Skiptotheloo, FOX should be attacked and exposed at every opportunity available.
Oh that's right you are an idiot, never mind. Or more correctly - NO mind.

They say the best satire is one where you're never quite certain that the satirist isn't serious. I assumed from the title of this thread that it had to be satirical, since no one deterred by hypocrisy would seriously make such statements.
It appears that this is either very good satire, or I was wrong.

Well the Dems have only had a few years (versus 8 years) and they are doing a pretty good job of matching (and topping) the negative effects.
Uhh, yeah. Don't let the truth stand in the way of your bullsh#t.

elcap,
Since congress, not the president, makes fiscal policy, perhaps you should re-color your chart based on the majority party in congress.

The banks are f*#king insolvent. The behind the scene scheme has been obvious to anyone watching, for at least a year now...drag the problem out long enough to recapitalize some of the banks (the biggest ones) to prevent a total meltdown of everything.
All the mortgage stuff like HAMP, the banks getting paid interest on reserves by the fed for the first time I can ever recall...all of it - the entire "extend and pretend" stance, the so-called "shadow invetory" of future foreclosures banks are sitting on - it's all to try to drag this thing out long enough that some banks will survive. If all the bad mortgage and home equity loans were written down at once, the entire sector would implode.
I don't like it. It creates a horrible moral hazard situation with the "too big to fail" institutions. But I understand it. And frankly, while I'd just as soon see the bankers swinging from lampposts, I don't have a better plan. And "let them fail" is NOT a better plan unless you want a full scale societal meltdown and civil war. I don't, you might.

Since congress, not the president, makes fiscal policy..
And since the president holds the veto pen...
You're going to have to do a lot better than that John. Aren't you supposed to some kind of professor? God help your students if that's your idea of a pursuasive rejoinder.

LEB, you just write stuff with no data of back up
WHen Obama took office, he got huge wars and an economy on the brink of SERIOUS collapse. You should thank him things aren't way worse. THe Stock market is up, economy is recovering and nobody is paying higher taxes.
SO what's your beef?
And where's your evidence about the mainstream news. Dan Rather was practically fired when he reported on Bush's military record and it turned out to be with sketchy evidence (although almost certainly True in every respect) Fox does that every week!
You are just regurgitating talking points with nothing to back it up
as usual
Peace

But, Obama seems very determined to make it worse. The home buyer credit persuaded many to "buy", but delayed the price correction mechanism by only six months, today's big econ news it "Home Prices Down Another 3%".
Ooh, boo Obama. House prices have only been dropping for what, the last three years or so. I guess that's Obama's fault too.
Do you actually believe the drivel you post?
