This photo shows the ridgeline across the Columbia River denuded of timber. This is because to the left of the photo behind the ridge is the city of The Dalles which was the end of the Oregon trail. When the covered wagons arrived here they had two options. Pay money to take the Barlowe Toll Road across the base of Mt Hood to the Wilamette Valley or cut down trees and build a raft and float down the Columbia River Gorge to Portland. Many cut down trees, and this barren hillside is the result 150 years later as it is in a sensitive area where the desert meets the moutains.Just a little history...

Tami: though a very tough cat, a crag cat, she does have a feminine side I discovered. In my vicodin induced haze (foot surgery 2) combined with my mom's vicodin induced haze (knee replacement), we made several outfits for her. And she loves them. Weird.
At least we have drugs to blame. Not sure about the cat.

Hmm, under the influence, Family Crimp goes about making outfits for the cat, there really never is a dull or expected, moment, around here.
