People often logically object to the other guy's noise.

I repeat another poster's logical suggestion, in these words....

Recognizing the ear-damaging and obnoxious noise of guns, the Finnish government officially encourages gun owners to use silencers, which is more convenient and logical than everybody wearing hearing protection.

The Americans remain clueless. They, including the their police, think the police need noise to catch criminals, while 99+ percent of gun use is not criminal use. The American police are that stupid, which is why criminals so easily outwit the police. Silencers remain illegal.

In the future, when Americans belatedly abandon the intellectually void DemocanRepublicrat Police State, gun silencers will be as common as guns.

What??? How often does a cop discharge his weapon in the field? Almost never. You make it sound like the 'police-state' has cops running around just shooting to get their rocks off.

Police silencers? Be careful what you ask for....

The shooting is really annoying, I was down there just after this post started and I was really bugged at the automatic weapon fire. It didn't sound to me like target shooting, just ammo blasting. Noise pollution. I understand gun owners and wanting shoot, Im not getting into that argument. Simply saying it is really f##king annoying while trying to enjoy the National Park.

Also, it seems like that can't be good for the big horn sheep, or do they not frequent that area, thus it doesn't disturb them?

LOL

Doug bags 4.

Auto weapons? Really?
At a party 10 days ago a Cerro Torre summiter accidentally discharged a suppressed SMG. He went on to muzzle sweep some teenagers with a .50BMG the same afternoon.

Noise pollution?
Count your blessings!

I'd say the shooting is about as good for the bighorn sheep as the harleys.

I feel bad for all the Smell-A'ers who can only go to josh on sundays.
To this day I've only ever heard gunfire once... and I just got back from four months there. Maybe give hemmingway a rest.

Might I suggest enjoying winter in an area that has winter? Not a soul outta idyllwild these days.

There is an old saying. When you complain, complain to someone who can do something about it.
Instead of typing in ST's address, type in JTNP's.

This will get you nowhere.

Apparently some people can't read so I will have to set a few things straight once again.

Did it ever dawn on some of you that the Feds decided to build "their" park around other peoples private property?

Apparently not.

As far as automatic weapons, there are none up here. That would be were I would even draw the line simply because they are illegal in California. Rapid fire and automatic are two different things.

Hey Mark,

We've had more than our share lately. Especially the pad people who were bouldering on the front and told us to f*#k off when nicely asked to leave.

Now spring break is starting and I get to deal with the hoards.

It's been a while since we did any shooting, maybe now's the time to start up again...

Ho man did they really say that on property you oversee?

Great reflection on climbers!
I've got to get you some of my less-than-lethal rubber 12 gauge ammo,..

"Dance boulder man, dance!"

Even here ("Welcome to the beehive state of Utah. Please set your watch back 50 years.") I get people accusing me of shooting full auto when I just have a fast finger.
My dad (who had an impressive vibrato on the violin) could've easily done it faster.

Bottom line; Cali is a pretty cool state if only they would get rid of most of the people and the patronizing "we're out to save you from yourself" laws.

Saw Jerry Mickluk on the TV last week squeeze 650rpm out of a 1911 with aimed fire.

Every time I see that video of him doing 12 shots from a revolver in 2.99 seconds (including reloading!!!) I shake my head in disbelief.

Eventualy Robert, they are going to have to shell out the bucks to fix the fences.

Then listen to 'em scream about the shiny new posts, signs and barbed wire.

At least it will give Tucker something to keep him out of trouble for a couple of years. Looks like his rock terrace will be done soon.

Yup. Most of the time they are polite and leave, but believe it or not, the climbers can be the most rude.

Gary, I'm not responsible. They just won't listen to me, but the rocks here are just too heavy to drag back to Colorado (and some locals might not be too happy if I did, but believe me, if I could,.....)
