Really, France is great this year. The vintage is above average, the bone toms are rollin', and les chicks are all so in love with my hat from Chilo's Chile...15 unsolicited compliments and only 5 I managed to coax out of the rest?

So, Trump, Hoffman, Keillor, Moore, take a lesson, as#@&%es, and start being good. You've blown it with Santa this year, maybe next year.
Now for the rundown. I had pneumonia. It's no longer contagious. I'm hacking out gobs of gunk. Funky name for phlegm, reminds me of East Coat rock climbing, for some raison.
It starts with atrial fibrillation. This is aberrant rhythm, needs to be controlled by potassium. Got to have it in the right dosage.
When this goes off, the blood pressure drops. This exacerbates the COPD and the CHF.
It's now time for oxygen here at Middle Earth. I have a generating machine and a cannister to cart around, plus an extra.
The Machine, as I shall call it, is next to the desk here, connected to The Line, a clear plexi tube with cannula. Ca'-new-luh. It's Latin, the accent on the second-to-last syllable. The little horns of the cannula should point down, not up. Seriously, it makes a difference. I asked the guy who just delivered it, and he's Ishmael from Merced Medical Supply (rent and buy local, right?). This is all pd for by MediCare/MeciCal.
The prognosis is that I'm oxygenated permanently. The dues are being Paid at last, Paid at last. I'm good with the deal. It went down.
In the hospital, Joe was my roommate the last five days. First guy was a total jerk. They took him to f'n rehab with his addiction on Tuesday. I felt for his sister, going "It's your fault. Don't take it out on these folks. STFU or you can find your own way over there. Git yo' pants on, let's GO!"
So Joe, he had this stroke two years ago, left side, after 37 years of paving work and dairy work. His wife's a sweetie, three or four kids, and she retired to take care of Joe. I felt he did pretty well, I encouraged him when he found he doesn't do bedpans, but is used to doing it with the wheel chair at home. He did whine a lot about "I wanna go hooooome..." but can't blame him. We were very friendly by the time I left today, and he hoped to see me around down town, but "It's Not Likely."
The nursing staff at Mercy Medical Center is pretty darned efficient, to my way of thinking. I personally had no problems and this is due in large part to the attractive HAT! Many thanks, pocoloco1!!!!!
It was a trip for me to have access to the TV. You had this long arm, but not long enough, holding the 12" screen RIGHT IN YUR FACE! The bed was scooted up to the wall but they want to torture you, so they put only so much length in the arm. My eyesight is fine, though, so it did no harm. I got to watch Miracle on 34th AND White Christmas last night, and the Boise State game yesterday, as well. And the Niner's game today.
I did not know Harry Conniff had a TV show! I really like his arrangement of O Holy Night, which I heard the other day. Allow me...

Sorry for your woes, DMT; breathing well is even better than eating well.
Here's the killer I haven't mentioned. As Mike, my older bro had a pretty serious cold himself yesterday, I got him to drive me home from the hospital and by the Locally-Owned Save Mart, and when I got to Middle Earth, he helped lug in the bags to the lobby and I said I'd get them ferried up to the rat hole. I sat at the bench a few, some folks I know came downstairs and offered to cart them for me. I got the two lightest bags, they got the rest.
As we got into the final fifty feet of hallway leading to said rat hole, my left calf gave way like a felled tree. It stung, it pained me all night, and this morning I managed to force myself out and down on the street to the cafe. I came home limping, dragging the oxygen cart. Two hours later I knew I had to get my Secret Santa package off, so I set out for the PO...took like forty minutes and it's only like 4 blocks away.
I got the package mailed, then the right calf started in aching the same way. I was baby-step-hopping like a syphilitic and took a break in the bookstore for quite a while, then sat at the Cinema's counter sucking Coke and reading for an hour. Took my time coming up here after that.
I'm ready for the tub right now, so that's where it's at.
The body's tough. I am not gonna coddle the damned thing just cuz it hurts like holy heck, not when I'm just soft from being in a hospital bed. F'n Anker's out in Antarctica after his heart problem last year. Gotta be tough as feralfae in your attitude...she's one tough cookie, IMO.
