Sunday was 108. So glad it's dry. I came here from Arkansas, where you can sweat IN the shower.
Although, now it will burn. Yikes!
Seriously.

Holy frig, Cragman - my bad SIC. Especially when Chris is setting us up in his guesthouse and all.

You must have called him and put in the good word, eh? In other words, you lied! [Thanks]

Really sorry to hear about Leah's dad finally passing, Dean. She seemed in good spirits [and of course Spirit!] when we last spoke. God bless and I'm sure he's enjoying the big welcome up in the Kingdom.

And did that wanker Flanders even SEE his Happy Birthday post??? He never even replied!

2. Everyone here is just capital!

3. Was going to Tahquitz but I think I'll dodge the monsoon and head to Pizmo Beach where the high is supposed to be 68.

no wonder i want to get basted all the time, my nerves are shot from caffeine overdose,

as long as i have money to support some kind of addiction, i am happy.

better than being all messed up on the lord, right?

if you have a job, you can live like a slob, right?

i know a guy who just bought another air riffle, he has like 22 air riffles already, somebody is substituting shopping from love, good for the economy, workin girls don't pay taxes, right?

Chilling on the porch, really digging the rain and the break from 110 degree temps the last couple weeks.

Drinking a Buckler N/A, smoking a Liga Privada, and writing up notes for a wilderness survival course I am teaching on Sunday. Talking a bit on the ham radio.

Other then the fact that I would rather be in the Valley tonight, life is damn good right now.

have you ever been driving home baked with some fresh trim you picked up at the bar, only to have your dreams of drunken sex replaced with the long arm of the Law, how depressing can that get?

sweet jesus
congratulations on enjoying a year of legal binding.
that sounds like a way i would spend any occasion,
out on the float among sea and creature,
bikini babes dotting the horizon,
personal babe aft hull,
green can in hand,
pale ale in brain,
smile pasted gob-wide,

i hope to cross ropes with you sometime
at one of the yahoe crags,

amen.

Sounds like you had a good weekend J.

Before I quit drinking, some friends of mine were experimenting with using wine barrels for storage...actually wasn't bad at all as I remember.

Oh! Yes! I need a few drinks to recover from today!

We leave to drive up for a private 8-day 100 mile, Middle Fork Salmon (Idaho) river trip tomorrow.

We’ve been getting organized for a while, but today was load the truck with most of the schist and get everything else done. Got my 2 hour aerobic workout mowing the lawn at 96 degrees this afternoon.

Somewhere in the course of the day: I searched out a U.S. Weather Bureau Forecast for a spot on the Middle Fork we will reach on Tuesday.

The forecast was so impressive, I took a couple photos of the screen.
Monday Hot 90F.
Monday Night Clear Low -80F.

I knew it wasn’t really possible, but it was fun to share with other trip participants, along with a request for skis and cold weather gear.

The forecast normalized late this afternoon.

Sluuuuurp.

Last trip down the Middle Fork Salmon in 2006, we were stranded by a thunderstorm-induced logjam for three days. The day we finally did the grunt one-mile portage around it, was the day the Forest Service blew up the logjam.

I need another drink or three.

Dang, Fritzi, yer stories drive me to drink! I hope you were well provisioned
while you were waiting for the Forest Circus to light a fuse under their butts.

Mom ain't home from work yet so I can't have a nip in good conscience.
But any minute and the first lid of Rayon Vert is gonna pop!
