So Rosie Hamlin was attending Mission Bay High School (were The Originals home schooled?), the song was recorded in San Marcos and released in 1960. Yet if you ask around many folks will tell you she was from National City (just like Raquel Welch).
Anyway Victoria Matthews does a real bang up job. Stage presence? com'n, she only twelve and props to the sax player.
Just don't tell me the Wolfman recorded his shows in La Jolla.

bro hooblie, I listen to American Roots, just about every Saturday night, great show. WTUL was a music source staple, BITD when I was a student next door. At that time the station was a very low wattage station. To it's discredit, Jerry Springer once was a dj/host there.
Mountain Jam is based on Donovan's song, There Is A Mountain, the opening riffs are the same.

zbrown, if we ever road trip, I want you to do the music compilation for it. That's good stuff. I'd never heard the Gypsy Rider song before.
"Stage presence? com'n, she only twelve and props to the sax player." She's only 12? Wow, I'd have bet serious scratch 5 or more years more older. Hitting the notes and sax is on it too. Too bad the audience doesn't sit down and STFU.
That Dave Matthews rendition of Jimi Hendrix's masterpiece is an abortion. Sorry.

Well maybe, but mama don't allow me to stay out all night long!
"Actually she was 12, this was shot in August a month before she turned 13. It was at the California Dry Bean Festival in Tracy." As i recall, Rosie Hamlin was 14 when they released her first version.
She loves that Mountain Jam, had to turn it on twice.
