At times fear grips me. It's the not knowing something, anything, for certain while simultaneously having full knowledge that this too will be an event I will survive however diminished my capacities might be afterward. And even if I don't survive it, at the very least, the fear will have ended.
When these things trouble me I tend to lean on music in order to somehow try to sooth the worry and calm the heart. I know and understand that this is not a fix for any of my problems. It is a diversion, a temporary companion that can occupy the spaces between fear and sadness and the happy and content.
With this piece tend to turn up the volume and sink into a almost trance state focusing only on the minutia of change throughout the tune. It presents a good enough feeling within me that I can almost forget that I am me for a moment, and this can make most everything alright in me.
