Steve W,
Those were the Galibier Super Guides. I actually preferred the Galibier Peutereys I got next as they were a little lower and allowed better footwork which, of course, I was reknowned for-lol. After the E Ridge we went and did the Coonyard-Beckey. Allan and I wore the same size so we took one pair of EB's and each led 5 pitches while the second carried the pack. A match made in heaven.

MONROVIA?

I used to live on Lincoln Place, right off of Colorado Boulevard, a few blocks west of the Monrovia High School.
Maybe we met once or twice back then, say, at a black-tie event?
