Aye (and I)
"Took an untrodden path once, where the swift don't win the race
It goes to the worthy, who can divide the word of truth
Took a stranger to teach me, to look into justice's beautiful face
And to see an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth."

Well, we each had a Pepsi on the road this afternoon, so that was a real thing.
Or was it? It made me happy to be not thirsty. Disneyland sold both brands, as I recall from an online article I just read. I'm wingin' this...

GHOST--if you see this, there are MORE rising musical stars for you not to recognize in the clip. It's not a very happy song, IMO. It left me flatter than an open Coke that's been in the sun all afternoon.
Down by the Chowchilla River bridge is an old boneless free range chicken ranch that went bust. There's an old white van parked near the river there, or should I say by the dry channel of the river?
Yes, Fritz, I scammed that one from THE FAR SIDE. :0)
But the pioneers' Turner-Helm cemetery is as real as things get.
My personal history includes living in Redding in the early fifties on Liberty Street, where the local Coca-Cola bottling plant stood, crates of glass coke bottles stacked up in the front, waiting to be washed and re-filled.We neighbor kids used to go over to the plant and check out the bottoms to see where each bottle originated. We never took them--what would a 4-year-old do with them, anyway? Too young to know about bottle rockets, too.
Louis Nye, the comedian, did some commercials for Like, a drink from Seven-Up. This link has stories of under-appreciated performers.

Here me now and believe me later.
That 'b' side is most likely Roland Rockoff
There is a lot more beatnik music than you might guess at first palm reading

Pretty sweet stuff.
Try this on for size. This chick knows what she's doing.

Well okay then
I am lazy watching the National Parks Special on the PBS channel a Ken Burns 'joint'. ., .
Empire of Grandeur (1915 - 1919)
Yosemite, Glacier, So many of the parks and a great roll through the heroes of outdoor preservationists. The paradox of need to protect the wild from the Hordes and at the same time gleen the value of the places. The relative beautiful serenity of the wild places, are the greatest threat to to them.
My Chimney, Is cleaned, where it needs to be the arrogance of nature's perfection. ? . . .
Clune and Perch & Gnome (Left to right) '84? Skytop for sure.
Ho man this thing ! ...that is the one I was trying to move from Weedges' arrogance 'joint'
Wait a bit and I hope to let the redundancy hang around till sun - up and desktop access.

You've been exposed to the Incomparable Valley Syndrome.
It's main effect is a fostering of the belief in a system to "better manage" the scenic resources while dealing with the destructiveness and carelessness of visitors.
This leads to concessionaires. It is a deadly paradox. Nobody really likes it, but hey, it's the law.
Enjoy the fantasy.
And enjoy the rain dance, too, another fantasy, Otay?

ARE YOU EXPERIENCED ?
Not until you have climbed in New Jersey! There are very diverse lines going up the left side of the Blue Gus Chimney, and take a joint start for gear and then fan out
the easy way is 5.8 yet it mirrors the 5.11c!
Two other lines weave up and go at the mid 5.10 range.
BLUE GUS CHIMNEY,The right side of the chimney is Photo opportunity wall and can be climbed at three well protected grades depending on the obstacles choosen,
the most direct(.11c/d) finishes straight out over the overhangs at the top,
with a big throw to a square cut hold just below the final roof. (3 pins removed)
The climb needs a bolt! or two!
This move can be protected or by-passed by moving right to the skyline edge and back left and up. There is gear,
just not always where it needs to be There are many distinct yet tangled lines.
When the Ice sets up the thing is an Ice Box! this is now the hot new climbing area in NJ! the Blue Gus Chimney named for Gus Neff,
Tye Neff's son from Los gatos Ca. (?I have lost touch)and his suffering,
near freezing while belaying in the Ice Box!
Edit to say wow Wow! WOW,!
The seconds are coveted for sure,!
Tad that is Amazingly cool coincidence! The One and only Ty Neff!?
All that I can say as of now is that his son and I were inseparable for the kidz very tough teenage years,
Ty was no longer in the picture.
His Mom, a photographer traded darkroom time for climbing.
Then they moved to Los Gatos
I would see the Blue Gus one more time
he was in the Gunks and by the fates,
let two black six month old puppies
out of a house on the edge of greater Gunks range, in mid summer.
That meeting was a test the I badly failed and your question
Makes me regret qmy stupidity for losing my temper.
I have been trying to find any of them, father and son, without anyone saying anything till you now.
Where is the written reference ? (Not mnt prjct)
His mom's new married name was Donna Compton, and she might know, her husband was Kevin I think but am not %100, sure, she climbed he played guitar.
Ty remains the question though , he left me a message once on a answering machine, it was a hoot. Now that I have kids I realize how bitter sweet the words were.
I had fostered in his son a climbing style that he was also a strong proponent of. and that he was calling to thank me for banging pins and forcing mixed lines in the middle of no-where as if they were front and center some where, Gus had shared that I had turned him into a Popsicle when the ice in the back left corner up there set up blue , Gus turned blue, Gus had a blue streak in his hair and my language was blue, so pardon if He, Ty, The Father, not the step-dad, Was Blue also!! it was at least five yrs to late for the concerned dad routine, and a funny message, it remains, a memory of the best daze of my life, I never met Ty Neff,

I did not realize that you have a separate place in your basement for dance, neebee.
That's pretty cool. There is one half of the Mezzanine floor here or it may be the ground level, not sure which, in the hotel which is a Ballroom. It never gets used for anything at all now.
The hotel manager was talking about it with us on Good Friday at the drawing for the Easter Baskets--I told you that I won the raffle for the adult basket (household cleaning & convenience products AND another laundry basket).
I was reading up in Wikipedia on these European squat thrust dances. My knees hurt (metaphorically) all of a sudden! :0)
And today's ride to Fresno took us to a location which is home to Fresno Stars Dance Studio. Gene took a picture of me standing in front.
Yelp's working overtime today, it would seem.

Our family's memories include many dance classes. Lenna took hula and ballet. I was twelve and had to learn square dancing--Grampa Bill and Gramma were square dancers in the forties and fifties in Redding. I needed to learn ballroom dancing, too, so Mom enrolled me in 8th grade with Eve Beekman, a local REALLY OLD spinster who had a very noticeable limp--she was probably all of sixty in that year.
Mom and Dad learned Latin dancing when we lived in Sacramento. She used to love to dress up for those Saturday night classes.
