You make BS accusations you can't/won't back up.
Well,I accused you of (1) making passive aggressive quips, which I would love to back up (would you like me to?), and (2) that you didn't understand the cartoon, which I did back up. Sorry if the truth hurts.

Here's one passive-aggressive quip from Sketch, so easy to find:

25k + and sketchy still thinks it's about todays local weather
Thanks for demonstrating Dunning–Kruger.
The NYU Medical Center defines a passive-aggressive individual as someone who "may appear to comply or act appropriately, but actually behaves negatively and passively resists." Passive-aggressive actions can range from the relatively mild, such as making excuses for not getting together, to the very serious, such as sabotaging someone’s well-being and success.
Most chronically passive-aggressive individuals have four common characteristics: They’re unreasonable to deal with, they’re uncomfortable to experience, they rarely express their hostility directly, and they repeat their subterfuge behavior over time. Passive aggressiveness may be directed towards a person or a group.
Unreasonable? Check.
Uncomfortable? Perhaps.
Rarely express their hostility directly? Check.
Repeat their subterfuge behavior over time? Check.

1983 set the all time precip record for CA. Yup, I was caught out on a long ski tour in the high Sierra in the 100 year winter storm. Turned into a survival trip.
Local/regional occasional weather events have nothing to do with Global Warming. It's the Really Big Picture that is important.
However, one of the forecasts for Climate Change is that the intensity and frequency of extreme events will increase.
Ask the UK who had the worst 6 weeks of weather in recorded history this year. Frequent gale/hurricane force winds and daily rain. Railroad tracks washed out. Cities flooded more deeply than in modern history. Farms flooded for weeks.
Is it surprising that some predictions of Climate Change are already manifest?
Like the 200 mm rise in the Pacific around the equator where the ocean temperature rise is greatest.
We are no longer living in the Middle Ages. We should be taking scientific facts and predictions seriously.
By the way, the 7 day weather forecast for my location is much better now than it was 10 years ago. There is indeed progress in global climate models.

Hmm, I thought I backed up my assertion of your passivise-aggressive attacks fairly well (even though I provided only one post for proof). Heck, I even defined passive-aggressive behavior and found your MO fit rather nicely into that behavior.
Above you cited three media reports that, from my POV, accurately summarized the studies that said the ice sheets were starting a slow, unstoppable thaw. You said you had a problem with the way the media reported on the two studies.
In response, I said:
To me, Sketch, it looks like the media reporting you do believe are the reports whose messages align with your opinion, and those opinions are not based on sound science.
So while you say you "mostly" believe in science, your views of climate change are based on non-scientific opinion.
The kitchen got a little warm for you, so you entered attack mode, lashing back:
It always amusing to watch alarmists misrepresent my views. You just make sh1t up, that has nothing to do with anything I've posted... and try to claim it's my position.
OK now, how does this fit your position:

Catastrophic global warming / anthropogenic climate disruption is our modern day boogie man.
The powers that be cooked it up after nuclear destruction was no longer an issue.
The masses need a boogie man.
So there it is, in your own words. Sure, it's fair to call AWG a modern-day boogie man. Heck, that's your right. However, that viewpoint flies in the face of hard science, even though you hate to admit that.
Above, you claimed I "dodged" your question when I said your posts gave me my view of your beliefs. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to go back and prove to myself that I was correct in my a*#essment of you (assessment, heck it's a real word ST!).

no I took my posts down because this thread had become the mess that can be evidenced by just looking at the last 20 or 30 posts.
I finally heeded the admonition regarding arguing with fools.

Wise move Ed.
And I understand how you get pulled in, and then embroiled with foolish banter.
One makes a post for information's sake, and the deniers swarm over the information, picking apart the smallest, insignificant detail, which one then feels compelled to defend. And the cycle begins.
I've thought about sh#t-canning this whole thread many times because of the smell the garbage emits. In the end, I've kept it here because there is such a wealth of great information, added by people who really give a darn about it all.
Peace.

My post was obvious hyperbole.
Interesting Sketch.
I had written a neat and tidy paragraph, explaining how you never directly state your views on AWG. Instead, I wrote, you use passive-aggressive behavior to put others down.
Before I hit send, I wanted to be sure that was the case, that you never directly stated how you felt about AWG. Then BINGO, I hit upon your post where you directly state how you feel, that AWG is the modern-day boogie man.
And now you come back and state your post was just hyperbole. Perfect, we're again left with having to guess at what your real view is.
I can make only one conclusion from this; that you're just another two-bit troll, stirring up sh#t for the sake of being a jerk. Perfect.

True that, nobody goes back to read all the great stuff that's been posted here.
The bozos have taken over this thread, as you can see by browsing back through the past couple of week's of posts.
Still, there are some folks who post good stuff. Chiloe, for example, has been posting recently. The signal-to-noise ratio has gotten pretty thick though.

One last time, then I'm kicking this can down the road.
Or on why you implied I didn't believe the studies?
I explained in detail why I believed you didn't believe the current studies. I even posted a direct quote of yours to show where I got my views.
In reply, you stated:
My post was obvious hyperbole.
Trollery, intended to rile the more zealous alarmists.
So, in your own words, you are just a troll.
Stop wasting our time with your need for attention.

I've made a few efforts to have an honest dialogue about AGW.
I haven't seen that from you, Sketch. You write most energetically to attack other posters, or to tone-troll about people who attack other posters. Your "substantive" posts don't often contain honesty, dialog or even writing. Rather they tend to follow a pattern that reaches self-parody in this post, where you copy and paste 500 words from someone else (no links either to the original source or to who fed it to you) followed by this noise meant to sound like you're thinking:
Hmm.
Can you think out and articulate, at paragraph length, your own original thoughts about Lennart Bengtsson? And likewise for the next big chunk o' text you feel the impulse to copy and paste?
For example, we learn that LB had a paper rejected from Environmental Research Letters, and has taken to the media to protest that grave affront. Here's the actual referee report, so we're starting to hear both sides of the story and not just LB. Is it McCarthyism or just a bad paper?

Hawkeye you are phucked in the head. If you can not see the difference I pity you.
He accused me of being a drug addict. No biggie it's one of his bald face lies.
But accusing me of being a pedophile? Again no truth but a despicable comment all the same.
I just told my 20 year old daughter what Cheefie said. Man is she ever pissed off. She wants to rip him two or three new ones.
It would be hilarious to see my 5'1" daughter drop Chuffles like the turd he is.
A few here are condemning me without a word to The Chief about how massively inappropriate he is. To not do so is tantamount to tacit approval and shameful. The only one decent enough to stand up and tell The Chief he is way out of line has been HighTraverse. Thank you for that my door is always open to you.
Actually Hawkeye this is a case of me giving Rong a break. Sorry to disappoint your ignorant assumptions.
just saving this for the drama queen....

Give it a few years BK. That recession, of a relative few studied glaciers, doesn't stop on a dime. The worm of warming turned anywhere from 10 to 15 years ago. Globally, the cryosphere is expanding; the Antarctic is at record levels, the Arctic recovering lots of multi year ice, hell even the great northern lakes of the NH are freezing earlier, longer and deeper than a decade ago, likewise is the increase and duration of snow cover. We are at the beginning of a natural phase of global cooling. As for eating pie-I see no need and I couldn't choke it down anyway since my Korn swilling days ended almost three decades ago. You might try it yourself, it might lead to you becoming a less combative authoritarian figure.
With Ed's reemergence from self erased exile comes his claim of erasure due his finally realized revulsion at arguing with fools. B.S. He self erased from fear of leaving an embarrassing record of argument loss to the superior intellect of The Chief et al, unless, of course, It was an Intentional demonstration of the absurdities permeating all aspects of the CAGW community, haha. Ed, in moments of candor, contradicted his message with statements like "the anthropogenic signal is rather feeble compared to the range of natural variation", and his often reposted graph of latter days was an embarrassment, based as it was on comparisons of "newly reconstructed data" and an ensemble of climate models less the sum of their average. WTF-none of it was real, no wonder he forgot to qualify his methodology in numerous reposts of the meaningless graph- pondering its meaning my ass.
Have a nice day ladies and gentlemen, enjoy the relative warmth while it lasts.
