Gosh I dont recognize myself!!
That was a great tribute & thank you again for everyones effort. I want to say thanks again to Ken! We met at the San Francisco/Marin memorial for Brutus & discovered we were neighbors (we live one house apart from each other. He & Sue have been there over 20 years, we have lived there 10 years) Ken & His cell phone guided us to the Lone Pine campground.
By the time of the films it felt Like it was a momentus occasion that we had been a part of that had a life & spirit of its own. Wish we had been able to get Lael to the campfire.
joy regret & love
EM you are an awesome sister.

Hey Jeff....
Did you get down to Elevations (the climbing shop in Lone Pine) on Sunday to get your daughter a harness and shoes?? Wanted to climb with her on Sunday but found ourselves chasing other folks down. In the end, we climbed a few Brutus routes: 'Tuxedo Juntion' (had NO gear for the first 25'...scary A-Hills dirty crack!) and 'Lives Of The Cowboys' (.9+/.10a). LOTC was a line I pointed out to Bruce last year. Leave it to my dear bud to snag it 15 minutes after I walked away to recon some other potential lines!! Sneaky Brutus! And the early bird certainly got the good worm. Nice route!!

WOW
Bro jay introduced me to Em in July when I was out on a brief exile from Wy. Wonderful pics and sentiments. I am struck by the feelings and how much climbers look like climbers. RIP Brutus... who I never knew....

Thought I'd share a thank you letter, with all of the Brutus of Wyde Stonehouse Memorializers, I got from Doroethy Leonard, the granddaughter of Franklin Merrill Wolff, who with his wife, built the stonehouse (the Ashrama)in 1930-1950. Em invited Doroethy to join us at the Film Museum part of the memorial.
Dear Darla,
One of the highlights of the summer was having you all at the Ashrama. I especially enjoyed the time at the Film Museum (I am now a member). The event and the people were a delight. I have a new appreciation for rock climbing and climbers!...
With Gratitude,
Doroethy

good point, as R Meissner once kinda said, " when you're on the summit you want to stay and not come down."
Currently more in Walnut Creek than Portola.

Its hard to believe a year has passed since we gathered at the Stonehouse to remember Brutus. I wish I'd seen more of your faces in that time. Cheers to you all and may the next gathering of the tribe be a joyous one.

Lot of folks there that day. Didn't get to meet many new folks, but I did get to catch up with folks I knew but hadn't seen in awhile.
Let's go climbing
