And the nassty bones and the haard rocks.

I'm just a casual observer, mind, on a break from Tuesday.

No jokes about Beatle Bones and Smoking Stones.

You'll hear from Mr. Survival, he'll tell us 'bout poor Rocky's revival.

Posting, Capting. Over to Tuesdaay, on my mark.. mark.

This being my last Friday night up here in the Great White North before departing for Yosemite [where EVERY night is Friday night!] I am starting with a margarita, just to get in the California feel of things.

You may notice that I amended the "rules" on my first post - inflammatory comments are now no longer mandatory, however feel free if you like. I am refraining from the obvious this evening, having perhaps indirectly having achieved the desired net effect.

So Silver, you're actually bringing my erstwhile partner Jon Fox into the Ditch, eh? Won't that be something? How long will it have been for him? We've got some snazzy digs in Yosemite Village, so you guys have to stop by for beers and stuff, eh?

Some strange white wine mix with a splash of Campari for for dinner. Some Bourbon later on perhaps while I watch vids and tag t-shirts heading for the Yose Lodge gift shop.

Working all weekend to get time to do the Jennie Lakes Loop in Sequoia next weekend. Stoked!

So, Fritz, COR in July. PM coming your way.

Wow, throw a couple glasses of S. African cab on top of a couple margaritas, and the ol' head is spinnin'. Await the arrival of Aaron et al.

Fritz, I laughed out loud at your Family History cartoon above! Good one!

Edit: S. African cab sucks monkey balls compared to Sonoma or Napa or Pasa Robles or even Temecula! Yosemite soon come! Are there any Thelonius Monk fans in the audience tonight??

^^ And this guy is coming to climb El Cap this weekend? Sheesh.

Here in the Centre of the Universe, EVERY day is Friday! We did lots of shopping and visited the post office, where I got a brand new piglet from Russ Walling of Fish.

Russ makes such crappy gear - my last piglet only lasted about 35 or 40 El Cap routes. I think I bought it in 1997. I sure hope this next one lasts longer than fifteen years.

And thanks to Kate for the nearly new North Face pig. Only a few holes, nothing the diabolical Dr. Piton can't fix with his Coates and Clark extra strong upholstery thread, his patching materials and imported Canadian contact cement made with nasty aromatic hydrocarbons, and of course his beloved Plasti-Dip. Kate is such a sweetie, she even arranged for a lizard to be living in my "new" pig! He had drug in various little hunks of foam and had built a nice little nest. I gently released him and he scurried away.

We've had a few beers, Mark picked us up some lovely Woodford Reserve bourbon, which compares favourably to Maker's Mark, along with some scotch. We have a fine selection of wines for our ascent, along with the mandatory Murphy's stout and of course Gatorita materials. And the absentee JP put me onto Sailor Jerry's, so we picked up the fruit juice for that stuff. And some King Cobras for Tom Evans, who tells me donations have been slow year to date.

Anyway, if it seems like we're spending a long time up there cheating death, you'll know why, eh?

And I'm still laughing about strapping toothbrushes on fish!

I hope Pete's lizard friend imported from California enjoys the short Canadian Summer. When Winter returns there in mid-August, it'll likely go to the Big Haul Bag in the Sky.

I got Fridays on my mind. But I ain't afraid of no ghosts.

A "Knott's Dairy Farm"--
A Glass o' Buttermilk, with a Gud Bud Light Clamato Chelada chaser--Belch--in my tummy.

Late one Friday night the policeman spotted a man driving very erratically through the streets of Dublin. He pulled the man over and asked him if he'd been drinking that night.

"Aye, so I have. Tis Friday night, you know, so the lads and I stopped into the pub for a half-dozen pints. Then they had somethng called "Happy Hour" and so I had me three four mar-ga-ree-toes. Then I had to drive me friend Mike home. He had me in for some Guiness, he's not a rude bone in his body. I stopped at home after that to pick up a bottle for later. It's here somewhere..."

He fumbled around, located it, and held the bottle up for inspection. The officer sighed, and said, "Sir, I'm going to ask you to step out of the car and take a breathalyzer test. Please."

"Well, I guess this beats going to the Partisan to listen to a lame, weak DJ like Bit'er ol' Guy. But why the test, Officer? Don't you believe me?"

Aaron, you sound a bit drunk. WTF does the above mean?

Well, it's been a 'tough' day in the garage, sorting gear, drinking beers, sipping Maker's Mark, packing, racking, sipping a bit more, I do believe there was a gen-you-whine rye and ginger in there, as well.

We opened a bottle of $4 Chardonnay from Grocery Outlet, perhaps better left unopened. However, the price was right.

Await various weather reports and other things to decide precisely when to blast. Pity we have to sit around tonight and drink, eh?

bored, sipping on hot noodle soup and tea.

Doing all the cleaning, packing, and sorting and feeling a little antsy. Guess the coffee before evening tea might have an effect.

This next weekend will be one of my rare 3 day 'weekend' and I'm a little itchy about it.

SOOOOO wish I could have a drink to mellow me out, but alas, I'm going to have to rely on the China Black tea for that instead.

Given the weather reports, I feel I never have to visit a casino, as I gamble with the weather plenty. What can I say, I'm still hoping to have a few warm days for my rock time.

Here's to having everyone's weather hopes fulfilled!

Cheers

Donchoo worry, Lady Scarlett, we are certain to work out something that will be accomodating. If the weather isn't good now, it is certain to be in a couple weeks.
