Who knows. Maybe such a riveting adventure deserves rewards.

Ammon and Kait knocking off WOS, and then getting Paypal and presents from people is a great denouement to a very, very demented Yosemite tale.
As soon as Ammon and Kait post the TR, with all the details of how much "riveting" and "chiseling" and "cheating" they found up there, I'll send off a commemorative cam.

I agree Tom, very demented indeed... but I already had a paypal account and figured I'd see if you guys were serious.
I'm sending the people who actually put their money where their mouth is, something special. Everyone else is going to have to wait to see this unfold.
Hardman Knott and healyje: Send me your address if you're interested in this.
Cheers!

I just couldn't see the tally being $1971 so I opted to pun in $29 to make it an even 2k. And as I said to Ammon, I am glad I was not drinking Scotch....

I just coughed up my $11. I don't believe I upped it at any point. though I did commit to a six pack each. though I think Gabe drank most of my beer at that one Cochise SushiFest so maybe we're even? ;-)

I was hoping you would come up with a solution like this. Very cool.
Something to think about. Did Pete's pushing this topic increase how much bounty you guys might get for doing the climb? Just wondering and am not saying that he has any ownership in the story of your second ascent.

last year i was browsing ST while sicker than hell and i found the wings of steel saga. kept me distracted for about a week. about 4 days ago i got to wondering if SG or anyone else ever went back and did the dang thing again. question immediately answered. chipped in $20 for ultimate lurking value.

I'm upping the ante again....
Ammon and Kait are in for a free night of sushi - facelift or wherever. Now... if anyone wants to chip in a little extra when the sushi rolls out that'd be great.

Pirates, being maritime folk, must surely like sushi. Perhaps I'll contribute a bit to a "sushi for Ammon and Kait" fund - as long as they tell some stories!

I didn't offer up anything in the thread (except for a snarky remark about finding wandering 5.7 slabs above the first pitch) but feel this good deed for the climbing community at large deserves some love. How much does a cold sixer of Cobras go for in the valley these days?
Congrats Ammon & Kait! You guys rock!

Hey Ammon,
I think it's sick you got up this thing. Rob Slater, and K. Thaw (assuming others?) no slackers.
Neat to find such an oddity.
Keep sendn'
