..Why does the red apple fall off the tree but not the green apple?...

A1: What if you're color blind?

A2: (Channeling Werner) What if the apple is colour blind?

jstan to LEB: "Stop posting, or I'll eat the apple!"

LEB may turn out to be a big fan of the Big Apple, that nest of liberals, and probably secretly has a subscription to the NYT.

And we all know the one about the boy, the girl, the apple, and the serpent.

Michigan Republicans for Obama: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQHoT5odE0s

538 Blog: In the latest Gallup tracking poll, Mr. Obama leads Mr. McCain 50 percent to 43 percent among registered voters. Mr. McCain’s deficit in that survey has remained seven percentage points or more for most of the last two weeks.

Since Gallup began presidential polling in 1936, only one candidate has overcome a deficit that large, and this late, to win the White House: Ronald Reagan, who trailed President Jimmy Carter 47 percent to 39 percent in a survey completed on Oct. 26, 1980.

Chance of Obama Landslide (375 EV's) 41%

*edit* Insult to injury: William Kristol (neo-con extraordinaire) declares that McCain should "fire his campaign" as it is "doomed" on it's current course: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/13/opinion/13kristol.html?hp

He actually validates a point that has been made for some weeks by others, and one that I think is very, very true.

"The 2008 campaign is now about something very big — both our future prosperity and our national security. Yet the McCain campaign has become smaller."

The difference is that for Obama the campaign has ALWAYS been about something big. The recent economic crisis simply made everyone else finally realize that too, even his opponents. McCain and his minions of Bush's legacy only know how to make big deals out of small issues. This is why they are losing horribly.

HDDJ:
What do those polls have to do with apples?

Oh well. Today's paper has McCain announcing he will whip Obama's "you know what" in the third debate. Don't know why a presidential candidate would announce to the world that he is desperate.

But that is what he has gone and done.

Perhaps he regrets not having planned an exit strategy.

We seem to see that quite a lot lately.

Just heard McCain's new slogan..."we got them right where we want them"...wow...he acted like a erratic fool just to get them where he wants them...quite the impressive campaign he is running.

Because calling your opponent a terrorist is just "fair criticsm."

Parade of McCain supporters either believe he is or that he could be a terrorist:

While McCain says he will not make any more attempts at creating an economic plan, Obama is still full of good ideas to help us through the slump:

Actually, looks like McCain's new economic proposal is back on for the time being: http://www.politico.com/blogs/jonathanmartin/1008/McCain_to_propose_new_economic_ideas_tomorrow.html

if this guy is trying to portray himself as the steady solid experienced one, he sure has a funny way of going about it...

George was fascinated with costumes. Now we see the same thing in McCain;s campaign.

It seems people no longer believe they can achieve substance.

A comment on credibility.

No matter the hundreds of billions spent by the US things have been getting worse daily.

Bush announces he should lead the multi-national effort to stem the bleeding.

The European Community ignores him and comes up with a plan.

The DJIA goes up 1000 points, the next day.

It may go down 1000 tomorrow, but this is still interesting.

A comment on credibility:

http://marcambinder.theatlantic.com/archives/2008/10/a_lifetime_ago_sen_john.php

"A goldfish's lifetime ago, Sen. John McCain was happy to accept the honors and acclamation of the Service Employees International Union, People for the American Way, UNITE HERE -- and ACORN. Here he is, on Feb. 20, 2006, telling immigration rights activists at a rally in Miami that they "are what makes America special." ACORN co-sponsored the rally, and its volunteers surround McCain, and while there's no evidence that McCain ever formally teamed with the group, the video serves as a reminder that he did not mind being associated with them when the politics of the moment were different."

BONUS MATERIAL: Video footage of John McCain saying these things.

LEB- That's what you call a fact, not a "fact."
