Never under estimate the stupidity of a true fool. America is the biggest drooling idiot in the world.

Really? Tell that to Sunni Iraqis.

Yeah, takes comments as they come, I do mean them, but that video is priceless. I really don't mean any personal offense, just dislike the usual naysaying.

Even dogs incur the costs of war and long deployments...I love dogs. They love us so much.

That video is awezome, just imagine the dogs that sit there waiting for someone who'll never be back....It's an odd perspective, but relevant.

dogs are capable of heartbreak...some probably mourn themselves to death, of which i have no doubt. by the way, cool thread on the SEALs...agree or disagree on the politics of this country and the morality and legality of war, those boys are warriors without a doubt. it ain't about politics with them, its all about the dude fighting beside you.

I understand your sentiment, sc, but in my spare time of the rocks, I do like to look at other things like geo-poltics, national politics, and spirituality, among other things.

That's just me though. The TAco is great this way...Some people hate Le Taco for this, some love it....whatever...

In the coming weeks you'll be hearing of Marja (Marjah) more often. Helmand province, Afghanistan.

Apparently, special forces are already 'softening it up'.

Five more Canadians, including one journalist, were killed yesterday.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coalition_casualties_in_Afghanistan

http://icasualties.org/oef/

Taliban/al Qaeda/insurgent combatant fatalities are probably 5 - 10 times as numerous, and civilian fatalities many times more numerous.

About 1/3 of the NATO coalition forces in Afghanistan are non-American.

Yeah, Anders, God bless those boys...I like Canadian troops. They seem to always be there with us despite home politics. WW1, WW2, always...

Rest in peace, guys! We appreciate the support.

EDIT:

and civilian fatalities many times more numerous.

Really? That smells like bullshit to me! What is a civi in Afghanistan? A kid holding an AK, a woman running more mortars to a mortar position?

Karl said: "With the CIA's proven history of running drugs out of South/Southeast Asia, I wouldn't be surprised if we secretly don't want too much reform.".

The assistant director of the FBI was shockingly recently quoted as saying that about 1/2 the time, when they are getting into a large drug operation, they find the CIA behind it! WTF kind of sh*t is that?

Coupled with the recent major election fraud in Afganistan wherein the US supported Karsai government won...again... hell, if we can't even occupy the moral high ground, we will not have a chance in hell of getting out of there before we get our asses handed to us hard. That no major player (like when we funded the Taliban folks with uber millions and millions of dollars, Stingers and other weaponry via the Pakistani intelligence services so the locals could kill the Soviets) has stepped forward yet, has been the only blessing here. Have to agree with JH up there. It's starting to creep towards the rat hole, and that's a bad, bad thing for our boyz over there.

"creep towards the rathole" ?

For all you younger people, from an older person who believed rather than questioned the older people when I was younger....

And from a Vietnam war veteran....

It started in the rathole. It stayed in the rathole. It will never leave the rathole. And only idiots believe anything more honest is involved.

War is the pursuit of idiot younger people who believe recognizably idiot older people who are making a lot of money off gullible young cannon fodder who do not ask questions of obvious contradictions.

Because of my credentials, when I was leaving Vietnam as an Air Cav helicopter driver, I was offered a job with Air America flying Cambodian origin drugs to wholesellers, for the CIA. That is only one example among countless. After centuries of people openly exposing the corruption in governments, only the SuperTopo and other sorts who are as monumentally dumb as Bush and Obama believe that war is not all about the profits of older people slaughtering innocent people and sacrificing stupid young military people for the profits from the military industrial complex, the government sponsored drug trade and every other damaging scam that war supports.

The US and the fools who support it have already lost their wars in Iraq
Afthanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, Yemen and elsewhere, where our invasions, occupations and killing are not welcome, at cost of more lives, limbs and money, much to the high profits of the war profiters, and to the idiots who support the wars making fools of themselves among thinking people, just as did I when I was among the gullible cannon fodder.

Your choice is to keep believing the destructive lies of the war proffiters, or to ask questions of those lies to advance your knowledge beyond that Neanderthal condition of intellectually self-stagnated dolts.

People who believe we are doing anything beyond killing people in Afghanistan for the profits of the war proffiters, probably believe that National Park mountaineering rangers are there to help you. Unquestioning idiots.
