"ya think? ... ya-huh!"
... sure signs that you'll be bearing the heavy lifting in any ensuing dialog, could be one's derivative irritability
may be a function of some coefficient of crowd immersion. luckily, some of these dreaded utterances
take on a new shine after spending sufficient time in the lonely wilds.
that's a teensy consolation

I get really annoyed at the misuse of "there's", the contraction for "there is". So many people use it (even news anchors) when they are talking about a number of things (plural), when they should be using the plural "there are".
Example: "There's a lot of people going to the Sushifest"
Some people use the contraction "there're", but I don't think Webster recognizes that as a real word.

I always wonder about that one, ydpl8s. While "a lot" is the same thing as saying "many," "a" is the single, indefinite article, and wouldn't that make it singular? If it's singular, shouldn't it be gramatically correct to say, "There's a lot.."? The corresponding plural would be, "There are lots..."
If you think of "lot" equalling something like "crap-ton," then the singular works. One wouldn't say, "There are a crap-ton of tic-marks on this boulder."

I suppose "lot" is not the best example to use, I can see your point (oh boy, another one that bugs me, when people use "your" when they mean "you're"). A better example would be, "There's so many people here".

pay to play - another word for regressive form of taxation or hidden tax
ride/riders - I don't ride my skis at the snowsport center. I ski.
diversity - how many times in one career can one attend diveristy training?
xx-hundred hours - Folks, you aren't in the military any more, tell time like a normal 7 year old, please.
oregonians - are you living in a separate country? do you not feel any affinity with other US citizens? weren't most of you born in another state?
vegan, gluten free - I'm an omnivore, and I am the most disgutingly healthy person you will ever meet. WHen I'm hungry, I don't care if I killed a vegtable or an animal. I will eat it. I will eat two helping if I like it.
