Amazing Wes, that young artist's take.
I really don't think I've met this guy, but with all the common geographies, friends in common, obscure firesign theatre quotes, et al, I may be set up for the biggest 'd'oh that guy' of all time. fascinated by the online persona, in any case.
The sushi fest may tell all.

I think the next taping of "Beauty and the Geek' should be in Flagstaff at BVB house.

From JVB

Nice thread!
BTW The picture with the frying pan - we were trying for American Gothic

Second - the lung thing - Bob was climbing at the beach in La Jolla. Legend has it his spot turned at an inopportune moment to look at a bikini walking by and Bob fell hard on his back, got up (not feeling so well). Six month later he realized he had an injury.

I think everyone has a "how Bob busted a lung" story, and they're all equally true. Jocelyn, you were still a delight unimagined when all that happened, though you did get to witness the consumptive poet living in a burned out garage phase.

BVB- In the three part meltdown sequence above I noticed that you have taken to wearing merit badges again......... please reconsider........ did someone say that you..... made it yourself... and you turned them into..... a bearded trans-sexual band camp nun!!!!!! Like all the others. I've seen that black and white stare before........

Missing a lung would make you lighter. Unfair advantage for us mortals. Definite handicapping is called for here.

RIIIIIGHT.

strap on a 25 lb pad, plus lunch, water, shoes, whisky, etc, for a day....then hike up, and down, into 1,000 foot deep canyons looking for new stone.....weekend after weekend, year after year...

then we'll talk.

Yes, I remember the consumptive poet in the burned out garage phase but you wanna know what made me fall in love (In addition to seeing the wipers in a store front in Olympia) - It was Bob soloing and down climbing the damper in Hidden Valley campground in argyle socks and vest, tight jeans and wing tip shoes. A fantastic fun thread. You could prescribe to the rags for a year and not get as much of the essence of climbing. I don't even know the guy, and had never heard of him. (So we have something in common!!)

Losing a lung does count as slightly more than a fasionable training injury! Are you sure that some SA organ lifters didn't chance to find you laid out and already nicely anesthetized at some sunny crag? The photos show that you are often prone to napping and nappiness. Quien Sabe?
