Flynn violated the Logan Act
No he didn't. He only talked to the ambassador. NOBODY has ever been
charged or convicted under the Logan Act.

The ambassador is the government. Gotta love how Trump supporters pick and choose what laws apply to them. Can you imagine if Hillary or Barrack even came close to doing something like that.
Eight years of Obama and what was the worst scandal his cabinet was involved in?
Went to Breitbart and not even they could come up with anything better than Hillarys email server and of course . . . . . ..

And keep in mind the uglier possibilities (likelihood?) that there were pre-election discussions to discredit Hillary camp (or not discredit the Donald camp with golden shower stories) in exchange for...?

Details shmetails.
Anyway, it took less than a month for the first major scandal of the trump administration to occur. So far so good, Mr. President.

Keep reading the posts on this thread and the other Trump threads...like I said...the liberal meltdown and "sky is falling" mentality is the most heart-warming entertainment I have ever witnessed.
For me, it's depressing that so many Americans view their situation as dire. Full on eeyore "woe is us", "the sky is falling" hysteria.
With Trump in charge, we definitely have the ingredients for some crappy developments in the future. But looking at the present, little has changed since last Fall. How's the economy? Unemployment? Has anyone lost their healthcare? Have any rights of Americans been taken away?
All these protests and acts of civil disobedience may have the unintended consequence of alienating moderates. We'll find out after the next Midterms.

I'm curious, what it would actually take for Trump supporters to disavow him. 'Cause at this point, seemingly nothing could tarnish his reputation.
What would it take? And who would they actually blame?

Don't focus on the Logan Act, conservative writer David Frum urges. There are much bigger issues that need investigating.
To put the story in simplest terms:
1) Russian spies hacked Democratic Party communications in order to help elect Donald Trump.
2) Donald Trump welcomed the help, used it, publicly solicited more of it—and was then elected president of the United States.
3) President Obama sanctioned Russia for its pro-Trump espionage.
4) While Russia considered its response, its ambassador spoke with the national security adviser-designate about the sanctions
5) The adviser, Flynn, reportedly asked Russia not to overreact, signaling that the new administration would review the sanctions; Russia did not respond.
6) As president-elect and then president, Donald Trump has indicated that he seeks to lift precisely those sanctions caused by Russia’s espionage work on his behalf.

Well, it looks like Trump agrees. Flynn is out. They said that the justice department was involved, so Flynn's diplomacy before the inauguration was taken seriously, as well as lying about it to Pence.
I don't know much about Flynn.
I have seen reports that Flynn's son helped spread the fake news that Hillary was running a child sex ring out of that pizza restaurant. That led to a guy showing up there with an AR-15. Thank God he didn't shoot anyone. He very easily could have. He bought the story, which is right up there with fake moon landings.
Come on. That was an Alex Jones story. That guy believes in UFO's more than he believes in the alphabet.
Trump isn't behaving like a president. He has a thin skin. Going after little people who disagree with him on CNN. There are many examples of this. No president in history has bothered himself with small criticisms.
He's delusional to a point. There is zero evidence of widespread voter fraud in this country. Trump can't take it that he lost the popular vote by so much, so he is attacking the voters. It is becoming a regular pattern of behavior on his part.
What is unforgivable is North Carolina cutting the voter districts in black neighborhoods so that they couldn't vote in the election. A federal judge looked at that and said that it was "precision." They gerrymandered based on race rather than party. Then they cut the polling sites.
Look it up.
Jody is an apologist for anything done by any conservative. I don't believe in everything done by any democrat (I'm officially an independent, but I've gone against the Republicans lately because they cut taxes instead of paying off the debt, or balancing the budget, like Clinton did.
The economic idea that cutting taxes for the rich will lead to higher employment, and thereby raise tax income has never succeeded. Ever. Reagan was the first to leave us with a trillion dollar deficit. Bush #1 raised taxes to balance the budget and was hounded out of office over it.
We need to cut spending and raise taxes. If anyone can figure out a better way to pay down the debt, or simply balance the budget, I'm all ears.
That is my main beef with the Republicans. I'm socially liberal, so when I see things like my state legislature OK'ing placing the ten commandments in every school, I just shake my head. They already tried this, and it was immediately struck down.
Our state is now fully Republican. They handed out so many tax cuts that we went bankrupt in an oil boom. I miss the days of middle of the road democrats, who had balanced the budget, and saved any extra in the state's "Rainy Day Fund" for decades.
So my fiscal conservatism isn't comfortable with Republicans handing out tax cuts without paying for them somehow. I am all for cutting costs. Obama's bailing out of the banks made me ill, but apparently the banks paid all of that money back with interest later.
Repealing the Glass-Steagall act under Clinton led directly to the banking crisis. Obama came into office with 2 wars and a financial doomsday. He got us out of the wars eventually, but he didn't concentrate on balancing the budget. Part of that was the Republican congress, who would have never accepted tax increases.
I am fine with tax increases as long as we tighten up overall and pay as we go. At least the democrats increase taxes to pay for stuff. The Republicans cut taxes with no plan of balancing the budget. None. We've seen trickle down economics fail over and over.
I would cut taxes for those who employ more people. Not for billionaires who hide their money in offshore banks, or with stock and real estate speculation, which contribute nothing to the economy.

Why is it such a bad idea to be allies with Russia. They have a tremendous amount of natural resources and a military we really don't want to test.
The 400 billion dollar pipeline to China is a feat of engineering. I am all for more cooperation with Russia.
