Really? If they support legalization what does it say?..
Says a few things, To ME at least.
#1.... Not afraid to actually discuss an Issue.
#2.... Will say a lot about their thinking on a topic called "personal freedom"
#3 ..... and will give a strong indication of what they see as the role of the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.
Carry on people... I look forward to peoples comments on this most important issue.

Kinda curious how all the government controls and taxes that are being imposed on weed where it is legal is about personal freedom? And you can be sure when it's legal federally, they'll be more taxes added on top of the state taxes.
All I'd like to see is the left applying the same level of scrutiny to their candidates as they do to those on the right.

Agree 100% ..... when Bush and company were comparing their "achievements" to Winston Churchill and Roosevelt's during WW2..... I had to gag multiple times.... and cry too. But don't get all high and mighty... Democrats do a far share of lying about stuff also.... can you say "TONKIN GULF"?

I'm still perplexed how Republican candidates can say "I'm the most conservative choice" in the primary. 38% of Americans are conservative, 34% Moderate, 24% liberal. So they are basically saying they are only going to represent 38% of Americans.
An awesome thing about of founding fathers vision and our country is our system was designed with checks and balances to help represent everyone. Do people really not see that and think that everything should only be their way?
I'm not naive enough to think that only one side or the other are liars, and are controlled way too much by special interest, but at least the Dems give lip service to being in the middle and working for compromise and for everyone. Once the general election begins Republicans change their tune, but do they really think people will forget what they said a few months ago?
Maybe the Republican's intransigence is driving people from being moderate to being Liberal as the polls have been moving. Which I think is a bad thing. I'd rather see more from both sides move to the middle.
When the Repubs won state legislatures and gerrymandered districts to give them more representatives the worst impact IMO was more far right conservatives who refuse to compromise, and are bigots in the classic sense of the word, which is intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion. Maybe that is a result of their worldview often being built on belief rather than reason?

The conservatives of the Republican party are where their energy lies, particularly in primary contests. They're organized and plentiful when one considers only Republicans. Those of us who are more moderate have the Ripon Society within the Republican party, but not much else.
Sad to say, too much of the Republican Party thinks Henry Clay got it right, as in "I'd rather be right than President." They want their candidate perfectly to the right, blissfully unconcerned that such a candidate will not be elected President.
If Hillary can avoid a serious challenge from the left in the primary season, and keep her foot out of her mouth, she can easily claim the central ground that wins general elections.
As odious and slippery as Team Clinton can be, the electorate wants competance, and remembers Clinton I as a time of prosperity, because it was - once HillaryCare got a Republican congress elected. AS long as the Republicans are running senators, not governors, the electorate has no reason to think the Republican candidate knows how to govern.
Sad, but true.

It doesn't matter whose gerrymander it is (see California). Every gerrymander in modern times has entrenched extremists of both parties, to the detriment of the general welfare.

I'm sick and tired of these family dynasties in American politics. Two Bushes, and now a third is gonna make a run!? Bill then Hillary, and you know Chelsea is in the wings. And how about Michelle Obama, how can she not want to be the first African American woman President? Does she have 2020 visions?
The office keeps gaining more and more power, and it is held by a very small set of people who pretend to be different from each other.
The word's out, they think the electorate is too stupid to have a clue. And for the most part they're right. Why the push for higher turnout? Think about it.

Not a chance. It's the nature of politics to bend or warp truth beyond recognition to persuade the masses. Given that, their bullshit lies along a spectrum of severity, with lies that result in mostly making them look like as#@&%es (i.e. Bill Clinton, John Edwards, etc.) on one end, and on the other end, lying to benefit a few corporate cronies at the expense of thousands of lives & limbs. That is true, unadulterated EVIL.
When TGT & his ilk try to equate the two so that they can get their own political party back into power (so they can wreak the same havoc again), it's frighteningly pathetic.
