Jody took some nice pictures and gave me permission to use them, which was pretty nice considering I'm an as#@&%e.

Spare us, is right.

Vegas, you keep coming back and making the same comments: ST is dead, nothing but a bunch of whiners here, blah, blah, blah.

If it's dead to you, then stop coming back. Otherwise, do something to make it a better place.

No disrespect to Vegas but Apogee is 100% bang on here. There is many others who like to moan about content and say it sucks here too. Fact is u can't swing a dead cat without finding a good climbing thread on supertopo.

Saying it sucks here isn't encouraging, it's actually more damaging & propagates more negativity than ppl slinging sh#t at each other.

If u think it sucks here either GTFO or contribute towards making it better.

If u can't find good content or climbing porn here u may not deserve it.

And to Ron A:

Have a good day ;-)

Timid,
I hear chocolate goes great with Maker's Mark!

I am now working on "The Ballad of Supertopo" for next facelift. :)

^ I met Jody and his family a few weeks ago. Super nice guy with very good energy!

edit - I agree, Michelle. Great relationship between Jody, his wife and kids! They are doing the right things :-)

another edit, per http://www.supertopo.com/climbing/thread.php?topic_id=790141&msg=2377621#msg2377621

"T Hocking, yesterday there was a post by "T_Hocking" with an email supposedly from Ron."

Sh#t, Really?

Maybe I was duped. (It's so easy to do.)

If so, I retract my former as well, T Hocking.

Jody is a good guy and very generous. Posted some good climbing content before he was hounded to hell.

The taco is pretty much a left leaning crowd and tends to attack those with opposing political views like jackals on a rabbit. Drives a lot of people away. Too many pissing contests and slander fests go on here.

I was certainly duped by the post. I PM'd the fake T Hocking and suggested he remove Ron's email address from the post, so Ron wouldn't be emailed by "haters". Next thing I knew the post had vanished. Thought Tad had deleted it per my suggestion, until today when the real T Hocking mentioned he hadn't posted.

Jody admitted to trying to troll people and he admitted to posting some pretty mean stuff himself. So some of the backlash was deserved. Not all of it mind you, but he certainly waded into the deep end. He didn't like who he became, which is why he left.

I still liked Jody and his pictures are amazing, but lets not rewrite history.

Jody offered to meet me at the bridge and throw me into the river.

He's big dude so I went looking for him to challenge him.

Drove a patrol car to the bridge and there he was!!!

I got out and swaggered towards him.

I think he got scared :-)

Actually he's pretty mellow guy and didn't throw me into the river which he could easily with one hand.

Most of the CHP guys I've met are pretty mellow too .....

Can't argue with that. I guess what I'm saying is we need to chill out a bit. I've posted crap on the forum I regret, so I'm no angel either.

Read the post of the email also.

It was up for like 2 minutes, no sooner then I could read it and then look at the thread again it was gone.

Who knows I don't care. Just saying what I saw.

I hate that I just added to a thread all I want to see is die..

Jody and I went round & round on a few topics. He is a good guy. Sent me a friendly email confirming it. Likewise fattrad.

I agree John M. Some reasonable discussion going on here. Add the Werner story about Jody & this is a good time.

I'd watch out for that Johntp guy though...........

I too had the pleasure of meeting Jody recently. As well as his lovely wife and 2 of his kids. He's living the life.

He's a very nice guy, as you would expect. We talked quite a bit about ST and the characters here. He's not bitter, just had enough.

We are talking about doing some climbing together soon.

I don't know what this means, but he actually looks like a Highway Patrol officer. And he is not a 'tool', in fact I gather that he left LE because of the system's lack of common sense and compassion.

Very nice dude.
