It's funny how SF city-dwellers defend this kind of behavior in public. "This is OUR city and if you don't like it, STAY OUT!"
I guess my original point is reinforced. This is why I hate that once-great city, and why I avoid it now like the HIV, or plague.
That city's mantra should be, "Give me your Hippes, your homeless, and your homos".
Don't worry, folks you'll only see me there when I reaally have to be there...

In SF, if you want to find funky stuff going on you will find it. If you don't you don't. I lived in different parts of the city, with and without a family, and never experienced the horrors Ron and Bluey describe.
