Three newbie terms Skip and I came up with - seriously lacking in this thread:

Noobitry: A general term for the behavior of new climbers. "I saw all sorts of Noobitry at the crag today."

Noobidity: A more specific classification of the things new climbers say and do. "The noobitity I saw today makes me wonder how new climbers survive their first year."

Nooberwhelmed: When the noobitry at a particular climbing area becomes too much, and one has to move/leave the area. "I was completely nooberwhelmed at Holcomb over Labor Day Weekend." (true story)

Wait! Wait! I have another one. I didn't come up with it. I am still trying to find out who wrote the song.

Drillionaire - a route developer that over bolts his routes. As in:

Sung to the tune of The Beverly Hillbillies

Come and listen to a story about a man named Plaid
A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed,
Then one day he was shootin at some food,
And down to the ground came some rocky rude.

Cobbles that is, grey gold, Oregon peas.

Well the first thing you know ol Plaid's a drillionaire,
Kinfolk said "Plaid move away on out there"
Said "Coethedral is the place you ought to be"
So they loaded up the van and moved to the boonies.

Spires, that is. Swimmin holes, TV stars.

Well now its time to say good by to Plaid and all his kin.
And they would like to thank you folks fer kindly not droppin.
You're all invited back a gain to this locality
To have a heapin helpin of their hospitality

Orebilly that is. Set a spell, Take your shoes off.

Y'all come back now, y'hear?.

Not original, I heard this one from Callie:

Herd of Squarebacks: A group of pod people

Example: "We encountered a big herd of squarebacks on the trail, and we were careful not to spook them for fear of starting a stampede."

"Full Value" my friends and I often use this to describe a climb that is particularly hard that day.

An inside joke amongst my friends occurred when a group of gumbies accompanied us to a crag. One asked me if I wanted him to belay me after one of my other buds was preparing to. He then asked my bud "are you sure you know how to lead belay". We still say it sometimes "are you sure you know how to lead belay" it puts a smile on our face everytime

Cragnostic: One who believes it is impossible to climb a certain line. He sees a line, but is skeptical it can be done.

OK, time for a poll. I tried this before, but realized that I needed to include as many options as possible.

Winner gets a copy of the new Sedona Climber's Guide (value $35):

http://www.amazon.com/Sedona-Rocks-Climbers-Guide-Volume/dp/1453727884

So - vote early and vote often! The winner will be announced next Monday when the wife and I get back from Lover's Leap.

Here's the link to the poll:

Edit: In duplicate entries, credit will go to the FIRST person to mention the term. I dis-included terms I know have been around. If you feel that your entry should be included anyway, please call me at 1-800-NOT-CARE.

14 total votes... WTF???

Come on people, this sh#t matters!!!

What happens if some dumbassed word gets voted in and then it becomes mainstream? Like when that whole TRUCK thing became popular for a while. "That anchor is totally Truck dude!"... Do you want to live through another dumb-ass phrase like that becoming popular again? NO!!!

So get your vote on people.
