Woot! Woot! This will be my first "fly & climb" vacation trip! I've been pruning down the weight of my equipment to a bare minimum, and will be airborne early tomorrow morning. I'll be buying my ice and beer in Burley, as well as propane for my Coleman camp stove. Should be a blast. From Casper to Burley, ID: 2:45 hours flying time, versus 9:30 hours driving time. I finally found a source for a rental car, too!

The smoke is greatly reduced this morning, and airport visibility reported as 10 statute miles. Yesterday it was below VFR minimums at 2.5 miles (3 miles is necessary for VFR). I'll be cruising at 10,500 feet above ground level (AGL). I'll briefly climb to 12,500 feet to clear some mountains in Utah before descending to Burley.

Rock City in Almo has a great selection of fun beers...ice too...

Jus' sayin'.

See you there!

A nearly finalized snack list for the meet & greet.

Chicken tamales, chips & salsa, salad, and a desert, likely key-lime pie.

Heidi & I will provide some cold beer, some wine, & water.

Other special needs are up to attendees.

Always support the local economy when you can by buying a soak or some suds nearby.

Brian-

Last time I checked, they didn't have my favorite brews: Bohemia! My second fave: Modelo Especial; third: Corona. Rock City didn't have any of these.

SkullY: Re your question?
So should I bring anything of note?

A chair if you want to rest.

We will be bringing 24-36 cans on ice of every climber's favorite kind of beer: Free!

We will probably bring a decent brand of box red & of white wine. If attendees want more, or better: they had best look out for themselves.
