Note that "running laps" for Romano means repeatedly leading the route (leaving originally-placed gear in place, but still...).

This is a note from Rich:
"There are no words to express the gratitude I feel about the outpouring of compassion I received from close and afar, from friends and strangers, following this accident... I am deeply moved. We are all very fortunate to be part of such an amazing community of people.
The concussion side effects (short-term memory issues and insomnia) are very slow to heal and frustrate me, but everything else seems to be coming along. I hope to be back in action by this spring.
Again, thank you so very much for the unbelievable support you all sent my way in this difficult time. It made a BIG difference.
I also want to especially thank Rich G. and Chris F. for their remarkable and successful fund raising endeavor. That too made a BIG difference. Thanks to all who participated.
Wishing you all good health for the new year,
Rich

Thanks for the update. Though I've never met Rich, I certainly know of him and wish him well in fast and complete healing.

I'm bumping this up so that more folks have a chance of seeing Rich's heartfelt thank-you to the climbing community.
It is important for everyone to know that their generosity has made a substantial difference in Rich's recovery. Chris Fracchia and I would like to add our own expression of gratitude for a response that has far exceeded all expectations. We are not finished with our efforts; a second route card is nearly ready for the printers.
The world is wracked by strife, there is a toxic political climate at home, and many of us are struggling with our own finances. In this atmosphere, the selfless coming together of a community to help one of its own is a spark of light in the darkness. Thank you all, and may the new year be good to you.
