With the objects in view closer now than they seemed at the time,
beginning on last Saturday,
and the monsoonal vibe of Arid Zone A fading physically,
what can I say
but that it's a good thing we blocked out thoughts of the eclipse.
Exploring The Gap
and the wonders of "The Walmart of Gift Shops" in Cameron
while en route to the South Rim lookouts,
after the journey past the so-called Echo Cliffs,
this will forever be one of my favorite "things of the mind,"
usually called memories.

Thank you, Tad.
We tried to remain faithful to our roots by seeking what we found though at the time we hadn't a clue.
I wonder what Hank woulda done?
Or Merle, depending.

On this road trip I developed a quirky interest in benches.
They are all over the place and come in a huge variety of styles.
Let's face it, there are huge numbers of asses out there,
all of which need a spot to chill out and take off the weight,
wait for others to catch up, or just to sit and take the air,
maybe sipping a nice five cent coffee.
(I know where you can get one and it's not at Walmart.)

Probably not as exciting as the Last Days of Pompeii, but I wasn't there.
