I spoke with a fiery 94 year-old bomber pilot in a chair about his flying experiences in WWII. He flew 34 missions over Europe.
The surgeon was happy about the results of my operation, suggested I return one more time in about a month.
I froze on the way home in the van because everyone wanted the AC on and I only had a T-shirt. But I'm stoic old masochist, and so I suffered in silence.
Arriving here at two, I claimed a couple of carnitas tacos as a reward. Had I a Bavarian creme pie, I'd have had a slice of that as well.
We rubbernecked a minor wreck near Madera which slowed traffic for a few miles, if that.

Tattooed upon my chest
Of all the bright butterfly wings
And the names written on them
It was my family history
And was all that I had left
I was the last flower child
In the world that was left
So god help these merry countrymen
Who are standing in the way
Of all that is good and decent
In the light of a brand new day
We could be anyplace in the world
It wouldn't matter anyway
Everyone wants something from someone
It's our condition I must say
So they put me in a museum

They study my dried tattoos

The butterfly man is such an oddity

There are always folks willing to buy fancy sand candles, right? And tie-dyed shirts and head bands?

There are many hurdles a potentially useful antibiotic compound has to clear before it’s used in humans. Many substances can kill bacteria, but they come with unacceptable side effects. Others simply lose their effectiveness in the human body or are difficult to deliver where they are needed. Researchers from the University of California San Diego have developed a “micromotor” capable of transporting antibiotics to the site of infection, making them more effective and reducing side effects.
The micromotor isn’t anything mechanical. It’s a tiny construct composed of magnesium, titanium dioxide, and a polymer derived from crustacean shells called chitosan. They look like spheres and are functionally inert until they hit the stomach. That’s when the motors flip on thanks to the high acidity of the environment. That’s actually what makes so many antibiotics difficult to administer in humans–they don’t retain the same activity after passing through the stomach. The micromotors not only protect the drug, but propel it through the body.

JUST GONNA PARK THIS HERE WHILE I FIGGER OUT WHAT TO DO WITH IT.
In 1993 Scott Thomas Erskine tortured, abused and killed two young kids (9 & 13) in Palm City.
He was eventually caught tried and found guilty. The first penalty phase ended in mistrial in 1999. In the second, in 2004 he was sentenced to death.
This is his story since then.

Charlie uncorked. The previous November, Dennis Wilson had reworked on of Charlie's songs, "Cease To Exist." He titled it "Never Learn Not To Love" and credited it as his own on the Beach Boys album 20/20, released in January 1969. Dennis Wilson felt justified by the bills the family members had run up at the hunting lodge. Charlie still seethed at the plagiarism. He copped to the truth after the May 23 fiasco. He had been punked by Hollywood slicks.
