For example, 60 years ago in the continental United States, the number of new record high temperatures recorded around the country each year was roughly equal to the number of new record lows. Now, the number of new record highs recorded each year is twice the number of new record lows, a signature of a warming climate, and a clear example of its impact on extreme weather.1
The increase in record highs extends outside the U.S. as well. A similar two to one ratio of record highs to record lows recently has been observed in Australia.2 Over the past decade, 75 counties set all-time record highs but only 15 countries set all-time record lows. In 2010, 19 countries set new all-time record high temperatures, but not a single country set a new all-time record low (among those countries keeping these statistics). 3

So now with the harsh winter weather, those who once shouted "global warming" are reduced to shouting "climate change". The global temperature has fallen in the last ten years. Funny, solar activity has recent fallen too. In two more years we will be wishing for global warming.

Norton... that graph is FIVE years old.
so what?
it clearly shows the 60 year history of increasingly more record high temps
surprised you would attempt to find some trivial reason to denigrate that fact, Chief
after all, you have long agreed that the earth IS warming recently....
your main point seems to one of personal objection to paying a possible tax in the future
and also your overall contention that humans should be using our resources and talent to solve more pressing problems than trying to mitigate such a large issue as climate change

Bullshit Norton.
Propaganda at best.
damn, Chief
there is nothing "bullsh!it" or a lie or wrong about what YOU said yourself
why are you now calling yourself a liar, chief?
are you now lying and telling me that you never you said did not want to pay a carbon tax?
are you now lying and telling me that you never said we should not be spending money or resources on studying climate change but instead to spend our efforts on mitigating human suffering right now?
are you saying YOU were spitting out "propaganda? when you said those things?

Monolith, Good one! And, it deserves reposting.
The weather we are currently seeing matches previously developed models for weather pattern changes due to global mean temp increase.

Base is correct in saying we are entering a period in the Milankovitch cycles favoring a cooling climate. We are also entering a period of reduced solar activity, perhaps equal to that in The Little Ice Age.Given the above and the uncertainty in predicting outcomes of a chaotic system as tremendously complex as Earths climate, especially when the the main means of prediction are models that are missing the mark, wouldn't it be more prudent to just encourage more use of NG and nuclear while we await new technologies that can actually replace?
Base proposes biocide application and burial of trees to permanently sequester carbon to combat atmospheric CO2 induced climate change that MAY negatively affect future generations. Base, have you ever heard of delaying the composition of CO2 absorbing trees through human use in structures and habitats. How about replanting along with more environmentally favorable logging than the clear cutting of old? Haven't you also heard of the increased greening of the Earth ( i believe on the order of 10-12% in arid areas) as the result of increased atmospheric CO2?
Don't you think the above three items are more effective in minor CO2 scrubbing than wacking and biociding?
Just got back after a few days out in the void. Anyway it is refreshing to see the likes of HSRV. To bad he wont stay around and "suffer the fools".

Like I posted above, truly appears that they definitely blew/ignored you scientism modeling predicting people, right off.
They blew you scientism modeling people? How was it?

2013 - 2014 is the third coldest winter on record in the US.
Warmists belief in AGW has gone beyond delusional.
It is simply f^$ked up.

Chief, Actually I'm libertarian, not liberal, agnostic, and a believer in the scientific process (one of the key to the process being the consensus of observation).
