He was way cool, a little wine, a liitle smoke, and he was genuinely interested in me and my friends.
He played a mix of classic Clash songs and new Mescalero songs which were great.
This was shortly after 9/11 and, if you recall, the FCC had banned some songs from being played on the radio.
Well, Rock The Casbah was on that list.
He turned out an awesome version of that song that night at the HOB.
A truly passionate performer and human being.
RIP Joe Strummer!
