Here is your quote from yesterday, Ron:
""Obama says it would be un constitutional to ban illegal aliens from health care......Since when do illegal aliens fall under the protection of OUR constitution????? Thats one classic abuse for ya....."
Still waiting to see any direct quote from Obama to this effect. Further, it is a fact that there is no provision whatsoever in the healthcare reform bill to provide care for illegal immigrants. (Hell, it doesn't even guarantee it for all American citizens!)
'Coddles illegals'? You are gonna need to provide a clearer example of your position, Ron. Check your email- I betcha there's a mega-Repug-droid chain email waiting for you that will help you make your point. And don't forget to write an email to Bill Gates, so he will send you that million $ he is supposed to send out.

Ron, I clicked on your link and could not find ANYTHING that has
anything to do with YOU PROVING your statement about coddling.
Ron, when you say something and someone else say they are not buying what
you are saying, and respectfully asks you to "put up or shut up".
well then, put it up Ron.
How EXACTLY, WHAT exactly, has changed in America since Obama took office
that "coddles" illegals?
WHAT FUKING LEGISLATION did he sign?
QUIT DUCKING THE ISSUE, Ron. PROVE your statement.

Victor Davis Hanson quote
Americans have never given up on a president so early.
To do so would mean to a majority of voters not merely that they were wrong, but terribly wrong. To admit that is difficult; to admit that so early is terribly difficult.

"Ya know we can copy and paste crap from now till dooomsday....."
That's true, Ron, and we all do it regularly and repeatedly on these threads. However, I gotta tell you that eventually one can learn to see the bias that exists in various media sources- most of the time the bias is very clear. When someone posts a link from a site, try going to the 'about us' page (or similar) in that site, and see what their mission is, who the members/administrators are, who funds them...it usually isn't too hard to figure out if & where a bias exists.
Even amongst the more biased sources, though, even a supposed raving lib like me learns something every once in a while from some of the more regular, articulate Repubs on this thread. Take a little time and dive a little deeper- you might learn something, too.

RON, how long are you going to keep DUCKING my question.
You have NOT "proved" one LIE you have told, backed nothing up.
Bring it on Ron, but don't be a third grader parroting right wing websites.
Prove your LIES.

Take a breath Norton. the idiots are out in force right now.
Obama is a muslim... hahahaha... Sometimes you just have to laugh at the fools or you will go crazy.
There is so much crap floating around it is tiresome having to refute it. That is their whole point. They want to wear us down. Don't let them. Just ignore the weenies.
Fattie says McCain would have been for real change. Yep, he would have. A third world war would have brought a lot of change.

"those are words from the horses lips..... No links just his words ... Now tell me how that makes YOU FEEL......No bs links just you yourself......."
Ron, I don't have any idea how to respond to something like that (with or without a bs link), because it is complete and utter bullsh#t.
You keep making these claims that Obama has said this or that ('those words are from the horses lips'), but you can't seem to produce any clear evidence. No disrespect intended, but why in the hell would anyone believe such bullshit claims just because you said them?
If you want to know what I think about how the Obama presidency has gone thusfar, then just ask that question. I'm happy to spray my opinion, have done so repeatedly on this thread, and you just might be surprised to see what I actually think.
But as long as you keep making these absolutely stoooopid claims and supposed quotes, it's a non-starter.

Thanks, John. I needed that.
The level of ignorance on the right is shocking.
I just read that Ron Anderson believes that Obama is a "Muslim".
Yes, he can believe anything he wants.
But if he still believes that hillbilly tea party load of crap, well then
it says a lot about him, his lack of comprehension, and his naive willingness
to believe anything he is spoon fed.
Keep on drinking the Kool Aid you backwoods dumbfuks.

And ya forget to include the multiple anthrax attacks.
You seem pretty forgetful.

"...of course its from a biased sight ALL SIGHTS ARE BIASED......"
Yep, and just like politics, there is a spectrum of ideologic belief. There are sources (i.e. websites) that are extremely biased with near-militant agenda, and there are sources that lie closer to the center. Granted, there is no such thing as truly 'objective', as whoever writes something does so from their own set of experiences and viewpoints.
You can usually toss out the extreme viewpoints out of hand, on either end of the political spectrum. The 'u-tuber' links you keep providing, and the chain emails purporting Obama to be a Muslim are exactly in that extreme wing, Ron. And yes, there are absolutely a bunch of leftist extremist bs out there, too.
It all comes down to choice- what do you want to read, how open are you (really) to understanding issues, and what do you want to believe.
In all this excitement, I've kind of lost count, too.....well...do you feel lucky? Do ya, punk?

In the forties when TV sets first became available we were treated to the sight of undignified persons jumping up and down yelling “Hi mom!” It was odd. It did not seem dangerous.
Now this is the norm. In the media, in politics, and in normal life everything is overstated and we are ever in search of a set of words or even a single word that will gain attention. No matter how foolish something is we send it up the flagpole. If even one person is misled and pays attention to it – we have gained something. Something we would not have, otherwise, been able to get. “Socialism” is an excellent example. An attempt at spin, one form of the phenomenon I attempt to point out here.
In more rational times when persons were seen doing this they ceased thereafter to gain our attention, no matter what they said. This consequence prompted everyone to behave responsibly. Consequences apparently no longer exist in America, pick any part of our life you wish. We have just sent our grandchildren beneath crushing debt and sold their birthright so that we might avoid one of these consequences. A consequence that would have been evident from the start, had we taken the time to question what we were doing.
This just means we will one day interrupt the study of our navels and will see a tsunami of consequences headed our way. There will be consequences.
Here on this thread we see one of those consequences. Increasingly we are no longer able to carry out the civil discourse necessary for the functioning of our society and for the functioning of our government. The loss of civil order awaits us on this path.
The civil order that took two hundred years and the ultimate sacrifice by so many good people, just to build.
We are shamed.
Together, we shall deserve what is coming.

jstan,
As usual, you've pinpointed what I consider to be a real problem. The tough question is what we do about it. Although I have my own ideas about why (and whether) it's gotten worse, I don't think much good would come from my posting it.
Instead, I offer a few suggestions for making rational discussion more likely:
1. Let's not assume that our intellectual opponents are:
A. Stupid;
B. Only repeating what some puppet-master told them; or
C. Above (or below) listening to us.
2. Please avoid gratuitous insults (although I admit they can be devastatingly funny at times, they don't make our opponents want to read what we say); and
3. Let's not be insulted when others don't agree with us.
And apogee, I'm sorry but I have not yet viewed the POTUS/Republican session. I'm still in the process of moving, have only limited internet access (until today), and even more limited time. When things settle down, then I'll catch up (though most likely first on climbing and piano practice, and only then on politics)

and we're off! post #1 for leb, february 11, 2010. will she go for another bandwidth-crushing 40+ posts today, or will she favor quality over quantity with a reserved 20+ posts of spoon-fed wisdom?
like a german tourist who has stumbled lost into the inner sanctum of camp four, leb baffles and amazes with her unique formula of naivite and belligerance, testing the tolerance of the weathered hardmen as she floats from campsite to campsite offering unwanted and unneeded advice and counsel on topics as varied and bear management and hemorrhoidal salves. she's got an opinion, by god!

"Remember only you can give someone the power to push your buttons. They cannot do it without your cooperation."
I have said this a number of times but it is good to see someone else has reached this conclusion.
We see a lot of angry people who never stop to think that, by being angry, you let the person who made you angry
control you.
Don't be angry.
Be effective.
When someone is trying make you angry, nothing is more effective than coming back cheerily with a smile. With the data that led you to your opinion.
Edit:
Not referring to you bvb. We were typing at the same time.
