Friday Night Special (Campari, Ketel One Citron, Grand Marnier, and Buffalo Trace Bourbon in a highball glass with ice)
T*R is back. Welcome back.
Raising my glass tonight to The Chief, who occasionally shows up around here and who turned me on to Deuter packs.
Getting ready for the summer season with my new Deuter Air Contact 65. It's the Mercedes of backpacks you know. Fine tuning the gear list in a few minutes.
Good weekend for skiing in the West.
If you are drinking or drunk, and not posting on this thread, you're missing the party.

Friday night in Great Falls Montana: with the springtime blues again!
Ain't snowing and the wind is mild--------for a change!
You Cali folks jest don't appreciate April road-trips in the Rockies!
A couple vasos largo de vino tinto, with a decent dinner and a couple beers afterwards, and back to the motel.
Two-week biz-road trips do wear on us old guys.
Thank-goddess people are nice and the scenery is scenic!!
A little biz in Great Falls tomorrow and then the long but-----scenic drive through the south end of Glacier to Kalispell.
Only an inch of snow in the forecast.

It's a beautiful warm day here in the Great White North. 16C with the sun shining. I'm out in the driveway with some beers, silicone, and Plasti-Dip, getting all the piggage and tents and bivi gear and cave gear repaired and waterproofed and ready for Algonquin Park fishing at the start of May, and then off to the Valley right after the May 2-4.
Cheapy Merrican beer, brought back from the last caving trip to Kentucky.

1. I'm currently drinking a 30 ounce mug of sleepytime tea, but I've got a non-alcoholic St. Pauli Girl lined up next. Woohoo!
2. Inflammatory comment - I wore a sundress on the golf course today (driving the cart for my 16 year old nephew) and forgot to have someone put sunblock on that part of my back that you can't reach - and it's quite inflamed.
3. My sister, nephew and niece are leaving tomorrow and then I AM going climbing! No need to drive anywhere - already here in Vegas!

Maybe he's in the grip of a modern-day Torquemada?

One half bottle of Chataeu St Michael Sauvignon Blanc while sitting by the rising tide at Stoneman Bridge in Yosemite. Coniac and cigars later on.
No slander. I'm hanging at the Curry Village commons.
Gonna raft the river tomorrow afternoon, then take in a few short routes at Swan Slab. Rafting opened today.

Reilly! I'm home, gone, home, and just back (like 20 minutes ago) from a 13 day sales-rep tour of Montana & North Idaho.
You drunk! Don't you remember posting a comment & your bull-fighter photo on my Spanish Trip Report?? (that report lasted about 24 hrs on the Hyper-topo front pages)
There were climbing, drinking, and scenery photos too.
Maybe I should have just posted it on my most-favorite ST thread-----this one.
Here's the link to amuse us drunks.

Speaking of drunk-------Shisssst I'm typing and not drinking, and I've had a 1/4 glass of St. Michelle Cab tonight-----total.
Catch-up time! Sluuurps.
Here's to Friday nights!

Reilly! Good to be missed on the FNPWDP thread.
I'll drink to that!
Here's to CHEATING DEATH!!
Fuking Idaho Hwy 95 from Lewiston to Boise is going to kill me one of these days. I was dodging rockfall, mule deer, drunks, & 18-wheelers today: between rotting cliffs & the Salmon & Payette Rivers.
A scenic, but deadly, drive through the heartland!
Sluuuuuuupsys!

Silver, I don't take them to the airport until 2 PM today, and after that I only have 24 hours of blissful alone time until my climbing partner flies in from Colorado. So I'm going to miss the GordonFest :(
But I'll be following all the festivities here on TacoTV "Goofballs, geeks and geezers worth watching".

That's scary road for sure. Drivin that a few for sure. Most scary for me is dead-man's curve-hill just south of Potlatch.

My Tuesday and I decided to open a nice bottle of Sicilian wine from the slopes of Mt.Etna. It's 2008 Guardiola made by Tenuta delle Terre Nere. The grape is Nerello Mascalese. I would be surprised if more than one person here knows about this wine. Too bad, as it's wonderful. Kinda like something from the Rhone region.

1. Just about to have a glass of white wine and fire up the DVD to watch "The Descendants" while waiting for my partner's plane to arrive.
2. Inflammatory comment - Why are there so many Sushi Bars here in Las Vegas? It just doesn't seem right.
3. Climbing tomorrow!

marching dutifully thru life
with my head down and my hopes low
i just now
was caught carrying,
a canno pabst,
my wife's bra,
car keys,
a receipt to something i couldn't afford,
and a restaraunt cartoon that my daughter doodled.
this is the life of the drinking class.
