Sawnoff In the Alwys Zawn
More on than off the rocks was he
That summer of nineteen sixty three
When Sawnoff came to Cornwall’s cliffs
His mind made up -- there were no ifs
He’d climb the climb that he wanted more
Than any other on a British shore
It rose high above the salty spray
Of waves that rushed into the bay
But he was drowned before he could
Though he wanted to and thought he could
But what did not occur to him
Was that he never learned to swim
"Like trying to climb a giant wardrobe."

Well I couldn't do it. What is the horizontal blue helmet guy, doing whilst the other blue helmet goes vertical?
Actually, I think I could handle the horizontal.

Of Johnny Cash’s prison debut, Haggard said this: “He had the right attitude. He chewed gum, looked arrogant and flipped the bird to the guards—he did everything the prisoners wanted to do. He was a mean mother from the South who was there because he loved us. When he walked away, everyone in that place had become a Johnny Cash fan.”

Some disagreement is always good.
Some say a 1941-1946 truck. Others, more likely a '39.

Larry McMurtry wrote the Late Picture Show. I recall seeing the marquee advertising it in 1971.
It was quite a good tale and reminded me of my then-recent teenage years in Merced,
"a bleak, isolated, atrophied...town that is slowly dying, both culturally and economically."
Hud was too flyblown for me...dead cattle don't make it.
This was another McMurtry modern western, his first effort at writing for the screen.

What song am I listening to RIGHT NOW?
"How can I answer that if you got the nerve to ask me? I mean you got a lot of nerve asking me a question like that, do you ask The Beatles that?"

On eBAY
Mr. Kokoschka, it just happened again -
they struck the museum like a hurricane.
All of our culture, it´s dead and it's gone,
from Babylon baby back to Babylon.
There´s stuff you find along the way and stuff you leave behind,
and it all in ends up as stuff that you can buy.
On ebay - from Babylon back to Babylon.
In old Bagdhad they´re dursting off the antiques;
it's the fourteenth guernica we´ve had this week.
I got twenty-five dollars for a Persian vase.
Hold the critique. I think I´ll go large.
That stuff inside your houses and that stuff behind your eyes,
well it all ends up as stuff that you can buy.
On ebay - from Babylon back to Babylon.
They´re building a tower of wrappers and cans,
and now we speak in language that we all understand
t-t-t-t-t-tongue tied and starry eyed -
it´s the ancient history of old school ties.
There´s stuff dressed up as truth and then there´s stuff dressed up as lies
and it all ends up as stuff that you can buy.
On ebay - from Babylon back to Babylon.

Life is the same and it always will be
Easy as picking foxes from a tree
But I can't get no satisfaction
All I want is easy action
A stud is a lamb with the thoughts of a tiger
Who moves like a cat and knows how to ride her
But I can't get no satisfaction
All I want is easy action, baby
Stroll on
I can't get no satisfaction
All I want is easy action
A woman from the east with her headlights shining
Eased my pain and stopped my crying
But I can't get no satisfaction
All I want is easy action, baby
And all my hair will keep her smiling
With my wondrous walk and my telephone dialing
But I can't get no satisfaction
All I want is easy action, baby
I know you're shrewd and she's a dude
But all I want is easy action
Stroll on

Vintage Footage and handage of the First International Sport Climbing Competition w CBS Sports at Snowbird Utah in 1988, CBS Producer: David Michaels.
Bob Carmichael co-produced with Jeff Lowe and Dick Bass.
Bob was Director of Photography during the event and created a pulley vertical dolly to cover the competition.
Dan Goodwin, aka Spiderdan ~ designed, built, and installed the climbing wall with an exception of the roof.

Climbing El Cap using only our hands and feet!
Bron and I made our second trip to Yosemite in spring 2015.
We teamed up with Chris Bevins and spent 6 days and 5 nights climbing Freerider.
Both Chris and I free climbed every pitch, Bronwyn managed all but a few pitches.
Pretty good filming of a great free ride.

Any climb either of them did would be a Winter Ascent.

"In school I had a lot of friends. I wore a lot of white shirts to, like, blend in I guess. No one really gave me a hard time about being albino or taking special education classes. Then again, I wasn't really popular."
--Edgar
By the time Edgar Winter left his hometown of Beaumont, Texas in the 1960s, he was already a proficient musician.
Johnny and his brother, both of whom were born with albinism, began performing at an early age. When he was ten years old, the brothers appeared on a local children's show with Johnny playing ukulele.
