Don't bet Jorasses on that.

I burn for it.
And, yes, Marlow. I do think in colors. It makes me blush to think you've discovered this...
But I think in black and white, too.

No kinda doubt about who's got the best tick list here...
It's not the cat, son.
It's not? But that dude's eyes are red! He looks like he might have lots of ticks...

If you watched the Oscars tonight, you may have noticed the weird "tribute" to fifty years of James Bond movies by the makers of Grey Poupon--the Rest of the Story.
Here's the rest of the Rest of the Story, which was shortened considerably, like about to 10% of the footage seen in this.

Colourful, Mr. Marlow, as they say in Britain.
Cosmic Comic Opera.
I find that I like both of Fleming's iterations--Bond, of course, but James Bond is his equal in every way.

Bond James Bond is a different actor and a bad one. He's never had a credit, ever.
Note the resemblance to Putin. Note the resemblance to Daniel Craig.
Surrender reality at the door, but you may keep the piece.
You amaze and delight us, CC. Thanks.
Target practice on the parrot! Target practice on the parrot!
But first get your vision checked at the door along with reality.
Oil. That's the reality.
Another oil! Unreal!
Except for the signature on the boats, it was tough at first to belive these two were painted. From a distance, it's "almost hard to tell" that it's not photography--that is to say, you find yourself walking up and gaping. At least I did.
And Dwain,
Keep on truckin' cuz it's all you can do;
One way or another trials will soon be through.
Thanks for the ring, Precioussss...
Maybe the breast story of Oscar night, but I missed it. Wardrobe malfunctions are hard to catch, too, as I recall.

I'm giving a largo listen to Little Feat, John. Gracias, amigo, and hope your little feet be up and jammin' real soon.
Yes, tonight! Can't wait'll Tuesday. Is this the same Juanita whom Donavan sang of, I wonder?
This is some hand jivin', man!
I liked the song about Atlanta, really; being a Merced boy but a Bermingham mouse, big cities aren't scary, just not that much fun for me. Too many people.
Today, er, Sunday was race day downtown in Merced, but there was a noticable lack of spectators, mainly due to the small number of entrants and heats. It was pleasant wandering about in fair weather disguised as a photographer, mainly just observing;
but sometimes intersecting with objects and interacting with other people, kind of like one would expect, I suppose.
First, however, these are shots from the day before, featuring the Farmers' Market held a short walk from my home.

Thanks to Largo we have found the voice of an angel, Eva Cassidy, who may have been Hoppy's favorite, had he listened to her. Williams-Boyd bit the dust in 1972, however, so it's not possible.
Grinning like stooges, the Innocent Bunch recalls their epic fist & pie fight with Glee back in Missoula. Oh yeah, they ganged up on him, and they were all hammered, but fights with climbers are trad, so WTF!
Yee-haw, Marlow! They're lookin' fer "That Phat Gal" tonight, Miss Marlene over at the Short Branch!
Black and White Monday is hereby extended into Black and White Tuesday, since I just got up for reals. I was tired after chasing bicycles yesterday.

I have had this and another print of a deer mouse for many years. I think Randy Hamm may have given them to Dolores and I, bless his pointillist head. :)
I can't think who might have given them to us otherwise. Do you remember these, Gypsy?
Here's the other one.

I found this link and sent him a copy of the first one. There are more of his works shown on the link.

Carnival
My chest is itching
The coffee was cold before I got here
My glance switches between the waitress’s face and the lack of steam rising from the cup
She leaves me
Out the window, there’s a carnival across the street from the restaurant
Children screaming at 9pm on a Friday
I was never allowed to ride the Ferris wheel whenever the carnival came to town
“Those things are held together with wooden nuts and bolts”, my father would say
We’d drive by in the afternoon and see them setting up the rides and attractions
Then later that night or weekend, I’d walk past the carnival and see the other kids playing
Some laughing, some crying, some stuffing their mouths with cotton candy and giant turkey legs
and ice cream
But I always paid attention to the attendants
These mid thirties white men in flannel shirts
Chain-smoking
Pieces of grilled cheese sandwiches
Stuck in their steel wool beards
Pulling levers with the blankest looks on their faces
Like they were somewhere else
I guess a paycheck is a paycheck if you’re one of them
But that made me not want to ride their rides
Even if my father would have allowed me to
If the people running the damned thing weren’t happy to be there
Then something inside me told me I wouldn’t be either
I guess that’s how I feel when I go to church sometimes.
