There - I finally remembered. Only but a single Keith's IPA from down east - much less bitter than your Merrican IPA's.

It is half past beer-thirty PST but seeing as how I am finishing up my
taxes for tomorrow morning's appointment with my accountant, Signor Torquemada,
I think I will be limiting myself to just the one North Coast Scrimshaw
pilsner. But if I can only have one then one of them is mighty good.

Not the best match for the sage risotto, but necessity is the mother of inebriation.

If you're headed to Squamish (pronounced "Sqeemish") from the States, you'll have to pick up some beer from a B.C. provincial store. And they sell it warm, even as Canadian Bud is a cool 7%.
So, on the way to the Lion's Gate Bridge, stop in downtown Vancouver. There's a store just off Granville..ask for directions when you hit Town.
Inside, I found a number of thirsty men, waiting around this "beer cooler" thing, as if warming their hands over a campfire. I'm sure they were hanging out for at least a half hour each.
Buy a bag of ice at the same store. Place beer and ice in the simple paper bag they'll give you. Cold beer at Squamish!
BTW, you will have already passed the "Vancouver Centre for the Performing Arts" by then. So peel an 180, and head back to the NE side of the bridge.

Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha! Silver, I actually hit "reply" to ask you how the snow was in Squaw, and only just finished reading your post. Sounds like typical Squaw conditions, eh? So how were your legs today?
Drinking some not-bad-at-all Okanogan Valley Merlot from Quail's Gate. Quail's Gate is one of the very few Canadian wineries I can recommend. To my friends, at least!

Friday is merely a state of mind. I'm getting thirsty out here in the eastern time zone.

One dry Martini, stirred with Absolute (yea, outta gin) and Cinzano extra dry.
Which puts me in the mood for some Virgil Parch cartoons.
Some promise of skiing on Sunday perhaps.
