hey there, say, wayno... oh my.... no wine, here, :)
just had about two shots of burbon, :)
could not sleep--and i have kids to watch in the morning, so i know this will help... :)
that, or reading, and i sure can't read all night and wake up for the kids, :))
say--veryyyyyyy sad to hear of the 'cop cars' trouble... :(
hope all turned out well in your neighborhood, the other night...
sadly, at my old neighborhood, something similar happened very early one morning--sadly, a man had killed himself, in the kitchen home--due to bad business practices and a few other things, ... very very sad...
he had two really sweet daughters, :(
his wife, was seemingly a nice, gal--did not know much about her, but the girls were very nice and consiences of folks, ... so sad...
a small buzz, or a small drink, may help a weekend feel nice, or help one sleep, etc--but so sad that it will not help in the 'time of need' when someone else, somewhere, is badly depressed or 'over-drawn' in the 'character' department of having to face what-ever they've done in their home, :(
back to a more positive note:
thanks to the good lord that many of us here, DO have friends and support and can 'pop up here' or, call a friend, and
share friendship and love...
god bless to you all this eve...
:)
edit:
oh my... wildone
sorry for that bad bit of poison oak, :O
as to your quote:
.... Epic poisin oak approach shwackin to get to an epic radical hard slab on Hometown Crag here in El Portal
:( ohhhhhhhhhh my, :(
did you get well, soon?, :)

Best wishes to Norwegian having a good beer-day.
I'm on the outside of some good Merlot.
Weather sucks here, and we are off to have fun tomorrow.

Life is better, now that local places have LSD on tap.
Or is that just in California?

What happens when the Absinthe comes out------ after a bunch of good wine at a Fritz & Heidi party.

The reappearance of the LEB (aka Layla), just in time for Friday night, should be good for an outbreak of drunkenness.

Well then (always a deep subject) Mighty Hiker: drink up and post up.
You have to pay your dues on this thread!
You can't jest bitch, you have to share what you are drinking, explain why you are not going climbing for the weekend,-----and then do some bitching.
I know you are up to the task!
Dooooode!

Really storming down here in Santa Cruz. Just enjoying reading and listening to the rain. If only I had a doggie curled up nearby....soon. I never stop missing my big yellow girl, though...her pics all over the house.

1. Your current consumption
2 bottles of 2-buck chuck from Trader Joe's
2. At least one inflammatory comment
"Light a man a fire and he'll be warm for a night . . . set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life" --Sun Tzu
3. Why you are drunk and typing on McTopo instead of doing something worthwhile, like driving to the crag.
Stupid rain. Building up work hours via VPN to take off my own 'weekend' once the weather clears.

had way too many happy hour drinks tonight--happy hour is kind of a ritual here in Portland--then a big bottle of belgium beer at home w/ a friend...
i've got no inflammatory comment at the moment, but mostly I'm just sad that I can't climb these days! Post-ACL surgery and *still* can't climb yet :( Lots of physical therapy and waiting for the day I can climb again (May?)...
at least I can hike but that's really not the best consolation when everyone else you know is going on climbing and ski trips...it's hard to be patient with injuries
oh well, guess this winter I'll finish knitting that sweater I started 5+ years ago...

Also communicating w/ climbing partners and making some near-term CA plans and late summer WY plans. Good climbing trips are always best planned when buzzed.

Right On Fritz!
Gee, I was wondering when someone was going to take note of my favorite "pick me up" (off the floor, please) apertif.
Prefer Orleans "Jade," when it's in stock at my local German vendor. I usually skip with the sugar...but, just for grins and ritual's sake, there's always the presentation of setting the Absinthe on fire (in the glass, of course), prior, to adding the water. It's only about 160 proof, plus all the wormwood you can handle.
Took a 750ml bottle with me to Pearlyland. Definitely a 1st ascent...of something, out there.
There is a US marketed "Absenthe." Wonder what it's missing?
"What am I drinking now?"
my lithium
"Say something offensive"
I think I'll wash my hands of that.
