Hi Dave Feinberg...don't think I've seen you since 1977 or 78. Do you still drive really fast? Sorry I missed you at the reunion, and for confusing Dave Rosenfeld's driving with yours.
Dave Rosenfeld - now I think I remember that we hung out for a bit in Boulder in the summer of 1977, 78 or 81.
Hope to see you next year. What have you been up to? Heard from Laura S. that you live in Seattle now, send me an email at alhenex@yahoo.com.

There was a massive rockfall in the Trapps two nights ago Oct. 29th at the HAWK area. The fall cut a swath down past the carriage road! Here are a few pictures taken Oct.31. There is a large white area seen (hardly) in the first photo where it hit the cliff face. Did anyone at the reunion do Hawk?
This is looking down off the carriage road.
Ranger Hank Alicandri on the way to repair carriage road Oct. 31st after clearing it the day before.

The incredible thing is that this was rock fall on a new route Ivan did named Chimango. He had just sent Dick Williams a note about there being loose rock on it and Dick sent him a note back: "Chimango No More" and the picture below.

If you look back in this thread, you'll see a picture that I posted of the carriage road from nearly the same spot where the rock landed.

Enough gorgeous Fall beauty already---time for something ugly. Me belaying Rich Perch on the Saturday of the reunion. Not that you can tell, but the climb is Cherokee, 5.9, in the Near Trapps. Photo by Sue Rogers.

Dick, The reunion "Dinner" was a deal. Gunks burger (of course) $18 tip included. Cash bar. Even with the current economic scene, even the working folks could afford some quality time with old friends.

It was so great getting to know you original Gunkies. Such great people, so much respect.
Here are a few of my first experiences at one of THE finest areas on the planet.
The Carriage Road along the Uberfall. Approaches don't get any easier.
My first routes; Laurel and Rhododendron. Great easy warmups.
And Laurel and Hardy (Verm gripped on point and Steve G).
Arrow, another classic.
Verm on Doubleissima. Can't wait to do Directissima with the High E exit!
Steve on Birdland.
