And of course ALL that record snowfall and current record breaking extreme cold temps are due to....
I want some of that snow and cold... This "winter" has so far been very warm and with very little snow where I live.
I guess that it is a reason that those scientists use averages in their work.

What do we have to do to get a reprieve from your spiritual malady?
Never encountered such an unhappy individual. Disgusting, mean, ornery and cranky. And willfully ignorant. A petulant child in the body of an old crank.

You are making great steps, Chief. You are back to posting some content, although you still feel the need to personally attack everyone.
To make a clear argument, cut out all of the personal stuff. It has nothing to do with the question at hand which is:
Are we humans causing the climate to change in response to our emitting a lot of CO2?
If you stay on point, you will be a real thinker. You write well, so I don't think that you are stupid. I don't call you an idiot, and if I have, I retract it.
In your next post, leave out the insult. I know that you have strong personal feelings, but if you leave them be, you will then be participating in a real debate.
Try to fill your posts with content. I know that this is tough, but if you want to have a discussion, that's the way to go about it. If you do not want to have a discussion, then sit on your hands. Nobody likes to read this angry stuff.
It appears that you are also letting a political and spiritual agenda creep in as well. That is all well and good over on the God vs. Science thread, which has been quite good, BTW. I would urge you not to get personal if you post among that group. They are mature.
So let's get started. How does such a small amount of CO2 cause an effect?
That's a good spot. I don't know the quantitative answer to that one.
Carry on. Remember though: stay calm and realize that the answer to that question has nothing to do with politics or sexual orientation. Nor does the true answer have anything to do with what I do for a living.
To get at the truth, you need to wipe the slate clean. Stay on topic, and don't allow any bias or emotion to influence your position.
Seriously. That is the first obvious question in this matter. I've discussed it with one of the best atmospheric physicists in the world, and even he wasn't too sure.

This thread is a microcosm of how this issue is discussed on a global level. There are so many uninformed zealots (on both sides) trying with all their might to legitimize their paradigm without truly understanding the data or taking the time tp objectively form an opinion.
Thanks to the few posters that have taken the time to explain some of the more complex issues and data analyses to us laymen.

Yeah! We now have data coming back in to haggle over and the intimidation is down.
Chief said this, which I like:
Accepting ALL things for what they are AND NOT for what one thinks how they should or can be.
This is one of the main ways to step on your dick in science. You have a theory or opinion. You then see information which makes you have to toss some of your long held beliefs. You have to willingly let them go, without passion or emotion. If it gets disproven, you have to go where the truth is. This happens more often than you might think. I've been wrong before, and while not fun on a personal level, you have to go with the truth, as much as you CAN know it, and let your pet theory rot....

Ad hominem again. You go so far off topic that by the time you get to any info, you have lost me. Do you really think that I click on your youtube links or look at pics of masturbating monkeys?
Being an optimist, I have a little hope. You need to GET IT THROUGH YOUR DAMN SKULL that you personally attack somebody in every post, and it is bad. Not subtle. You would get your ass kicked if you did that to people in person.
You couldn't even start at the beginning, man. I posed an honest question. It wasn't loaded. You are incapable of discussing AGW based on the science. You seem to have a position formed from ideology.
If you start with the premise that no matter what, you will never admit to being wrong, or learning, then you are stuck. No more learning. Just listen to Limbaugh all day while typing on a stupid thread which 5 people actually read.
Basically you have pre-decided this going in. You will cherry pick data, attack people who call you out, anything to support your position that is apparently based on your world view.

GET IT THROUGH YOUR DAMN SKULL that you personally attack somebody in every post
I wrote that with good intentions. It was not meant to be derisive. I just want to settle down and stop the insults, which mean nothing, literally. If you want to insult people, flame them somewhere else.
I was trying to help you along, Chief. I think that I have been pretty fair with you.
Why do you go off on my being a petroleum geologist? I loved geology in school, and it is fun, but very hard and stressful work.
You see, I know how to separate the politics from the truth. I try to follow the truth no matter how inconvenient it might be. That is the hardcore scientist in me. Getting mad won't move the rocks around. Insulting people won't affect point bar deposits in the Morrow sandstone.
I find oil. You and everyone else uses oil. We are all wrapped up in the age of petroleum, mainly because it is incredibly energy dense. And cheap, no matter what anyone might think.
Get it? Cool down with the flames, which are no good. I regret that one post I made in anger towards you and will delete it.
There are a lot of smart people from a wide variety of backgrounds here. We get some good discussions going on sometimes. This is a good topic, and I'd like to see it get back on track.
There are so many kooky opinions that people get. We have been fracking wells for going on 60 years, but suddenly it is controversial. This really caught everyone with their pants down. The horizontal fracs are indeed huge, but other than size, nothing is unusual.
I have read so much made-up baloney on the web about fracking. Really weird and off the wall stuff. It creates confusion because the parts of it that cause problems are being dealt with. If there is one thing that an exploration company can't stand it is pissed off landowners. Just one can make it hard to operate in an area. We treat landowners pretty well.
Anyway, 90% of the frack stuff is extremely bad propaganda. Occasionally some of it is true, though. All of the stupid stuff makes it more difficult to address and regulate the right things. It stops being science and becomes a miss America contest.

There needs to be understanding that anger never helps to solve a problem. It destroys our peace of mind and blinds our ability to think clearly. Anger and attachment are emotions that distort our view of reality.

Base tried hard on the last few pages to engage Poedtke as if Poedtke were an adult, but that did not work at all and he seems to be getting worse. Anything to stay the center of attention.
Back on climate topics, here's a mystery. As Sketch-level minds see arctic air in the Midwest and crow "Damn this global warming," how come even they don't think for a second about where that arctic air came from?

But then you nor any of the other SCIENTISM freaks here would even understand anything about "spirituality" cus it is totally counter to anything you all believe in as far as "the science" goes. Cus your science states there is no such thing as "Spirituality" nor can it exist or can it be "proven" to exist.
I'll give you a slight hint.... he was a tuber.
wash out of sub school cheez?
Oh how the hypocrisy continues to flooooooooooooooow!
More buffoon babble that shows just how this entire AGW agenda is complete political hysteria based ideological bullshet...

Ya first gotta be one, an Adult, in order to even do that. Which Base clearly is, and you failed.
Here's some of your "adult" engagements: None of those are from Base, and Chief you're setting the pace. Go back and count how many big photos of sh#t you've posted on the last page alone.
Nice try Larry. I don't know what's gone so wrong in your life to leave you such an unhappy, bitter wretch at this stage, pouring 20 posts a day into bragging and picking fights with strangers on the internet. Whatever it was that went wrong in your life, I'm sure it was not climate scientists.
