Peggy Lou and Grandpa Throwpie up in the Valley last week. (how can one be up in a valley?) Electric Green approach out Keyes Rd, a stop at Henderson Park (the river is maxed out and alive) visited the tree that is no more under which we were hitched... More Electric Green through Hornitos and upward....through the familiar canyon and into Granite/ Hydro World. Thinking of you Mouse....scanning our shared routes of youth, humble as they were, and listening to the imagined wind chime sound of a rack of pins.

Sounds like a great trip, for realz, but are there picatures?
What you and Peggy knew as the STrand Theater, remodeled into the Mainzer. Now the Mainzer is in the hands of entrepreneurial types looking to "universitize" the Main Drag, make it more appealing to youthful $$$.

On deck, the 23 foot tree root growing in the drain pipe. Can you use PVC for a sewer drain, apparently so, BITD!

Here's the reason I'm posting local.
Rudy Merino, a friend of mine who owned the jazz club that occupied the old Trail's End bar, called Rudy's (currently the Partisan, being remodeled), is in a bad way.
He's in Fresno in a temporary situation while his wife Cynthia is trying to find care for him. He fell, hitting his head. Then he fell again, hitting his head yet again.
He's way out of it and it's not going to improve.
It's a sad thing, related to me by Decker this evening, who somehow knows Cynthia. Rudy played drums so well he made it look easy. That's his bro playing drums for Mike Hammar.
When he sold the jazz club to RJ, for several years Rudy played in a jazz trio with my bass-playing friend Joel and a highly-talented jazz guitarist who taught at the college. Joel had a number of strokes and finally stopped playing.[Click to View YouTube Video]
