Chumph, I've ridden rice rockets and a Harley on AZ highways and loved it. I almost bought a bike once but saner thoughts prevailed. For someone into motorbikes, I'm surprised you don't have a higher appreciation for tech. You seem to stop at the cc level. What up with that?

I hear ya Wilbeer-the same lecture over and over.

Talk about a single track narrow mind- old Freud has been here forever and never bothered to learn a damn thing about the science. He prefers to follow the chicken little cowards with blinders and a muffler wrapped ear to ear around his thick skull so reality never has a possibility of intruding into his illusory world of smug self righteousness.

Follow old Freud to your own peril Mimi, or take some time to learn some of the science before you condemn others for ignorance.

Chumph, you're the kind of guy I'd have punched in the stomach. And you'd have liked it.

Not that I have to explain myself to you but I'm trying to break ground here. I drove around 90 on the Harley on I10 from Tucson to Tempe after a Beanfest. Have pictures of that ride. Not very fast in the city on Desert Frank's Yamaha, maybe around 50. No helmet in town but we wore them on the highway.

Not sure what you mean by pretending to climb?

Rick, give me a few minutes to read your posts. Not sure what you're getting at yet.

Not meaning to belittle at all in that instance. Don't be so defensive.

There was no helmet law so we elected to wear them when we thought it prudent, same as climbing. We were young and stupid. I believed at the time if you screwed up, a helmet wouldn't matter.

Not knowing your definition of pretending to climb, I had to ask.

If you're going to post graphs and challenge data, I can see how you'd get lost in the weeds.

But that's the problem. Education is lacking so people don't understand.

"Assuming you have expertise in a field that you know nothing about is hubris plain & simple.

A reasonable man knows his limitations, even if he doesn't know the exact boundaries."

I'm afraid you're wrong. This has nothing to do with hubris and you're giving way too much credit to awareness and being reasonable.

Bill Nye breaks it down so that people with open minds can understand what's going on. Folks with closed minds? Can't help them...

And people with closed minds seem to always find some little schtick that justifies their inability to reason.

k-man it seems reasonable to assume that if the alarmists had a monopoly on reasoning that they wouldn't be taking such a beating on predictions, or should i say modeled projections , versus observed reality. It's been a very bad year for you dead enders.I guess one would have to admire the tenacity of this movement, that is if their agenda wasn't so dangerous.

Bruce says he is going to reduce my dangerous incompetency to simple incompetency. Quite a delusion of grandeur coming from mr. ethics.

Anyway, off on a jet plane, but don't worry it will be a crowded sardine can so the carbon footprint will be somewhat diluted.

“It is not just a couple of rogue individuals doing this. This is a large-scale political effort.”

Using IRS data from 2003-2010, Brulle identified 91 CCCM organizations including advocacy groups, think tanks, and trade associations who accumulated over $7 billion in total income over the eight year period, with an annual average income exceeding $900 million.

Further, the vast majority of the groups—78 percent—were registered as charitable organizations and enjoyed considerable tax breaks.

The Chief, how much money do they pay you to act like an imbecile?

Nice KMAN. The dude [Bill Nye] isn't even a "scientist".

So, I suppose that means you can refute something he said in the video of him I posted.

Besides attacking his character, got anything of merit? Or, are you just playing the fool again.

“It is not just a couple of rogue individuals doing this. This is a large-scale political effort.”

I have maintained this all along,K-man.Not only do we pay for research, we pay to fight it though tax breaks to denier groups and paying inflated fuel prices across the board.

They have a nice monopoly figured out .

Great examples of their coattails are on display right here on your thread.

The sad thing is ,money will win.

Hopefully this guy will shift the balance a bit:

Tom Steyer may be liberals' answer to the Koch brothers

The California billionaire is building a vast political network and inserting himself into elections nationwide, with a focus on fossil fuels and global warming.
