Hey guys,

I'd love to throw my name in to compete but I can't - I will never reach that magic number. So I shouldn't be on the list. I just hope you don't mind me lurking and cheering you on. If I come up with some good strategies I can "weigh in" ha ha.

Right now it's calories in vs. calories out, going for a net burn of hopefully 500 cal. a day and trying to make all the calories in good ones - in terms of purity of the food, less sugar and so on.

Had a hard work out last night and am already sore - good sign!

Well that was fast and easy, Nature. I am an overall Pitta.

Body, Vata=4, Pitta=7 and Kapha=1

Mind, Vata=5, Pitta=4 and Kapha=3

Now I've got to go read about it !

Edit: Good Luck, crusher !!!!

crusher - that's why I'm here lurking as well.

10 lbs in 3 weeks is probably not a healthy approach. However if these folks stay very active they should be able to get the proper nutrition to keep 'em healthy :-).

Here's something I read that might help (quoting David Wolfe): "Experiments show that those who take bee pollen decrease their daily intake of food by 15 to 20 percent".

Bee Pollen is loaded with Amino's (complete protein), full of trace minerals like barium, boron, calcium, copper, gold, iodine, iron, magnesium, iron, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, silicon, sulfur, sodium, and zinc. It has almost all the B-vitamins (except B12), has C, D and E, rutin, carotenes, fourteen fatty acids, and I could go on.

It's also an aphrodisiac and improves fertility. Go get 'em Lynn! :-)

But make sure it's raw and make sure it's organic!

Lynne: figures you are Pitta, but that's cool you are close to balanced mentally (though I'm sure Zip will show up and disagree - LOL!).

Losing 10 pounds in a week is simple!

I weighed in this morning at 181.5.

All I did was cut my beer consuuption from a case or more a day to a six pack and no eating after 5:00 PM.

Oh, yeah, I also am drinking at least a gallon of water a day.
Too bad that the temps. here in Joshua Tree are too cool to break a sweat.

LOL,,,,,,,aphrodisiac.....fertility YIKES ? Don't need No aphrodisiac....I be good there. :DDD hehehe. Fertility....I've already done my job.

Nature, what's wrong with being a Pitta ?

And even I might disagree with Lynne being mentally balanced, never mind zippo.....

Blitzo, good point about the H2O I keep forgetting to mention it !

Nature what form is best for bee pollen? And how best to ingest it? I imagine you can get it at Whole Foods?

Lynne: there's nothing "wrong" with being Pitta. Ideally we'd like to be tri-doshic (balance of all three) and so to work that direction we make modifications in our habits like eating. So the link I posted is a very basic sheet of foods that feed Pitta (not what you want) and foods that help to chill Pitta out.

IF you get interested in your Ayurvedic constitution I can recommend some reading (funny, since I asked about this stuff here not six months ago) - I'm finding Svoboda's book "Prakriti" to be very accessible and thorough.

crusher: yeah, Wholefoods (AKA WholePaycheck) will have it. I like the raw granules. You can mix them with a smoothy or just eat it straight. It tastes pretty good. Here's what I'm using now:
http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/browse/sku_detail.jsp?id=RJ-7035&st=cs&source=FG&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=RJ-7035

but this weekend I'm hitting up the farmers market where a local bee keeper sells his product. I can't stress organic enough on bee products. And if it's not raw all the enzymes are killed.

Locker: got you covered. I'll even add a little wheatgrass in there.

Ok, someone asked about the Line and side bets....

Here's my take.

Sooze.... pulls it off, my $ on her.

Healyje...can do if puts shoulder into it. Nice meeting you at Todd's Healyje !!!

t*r also, you can make it happen if yo want ! Semi dark horse.

Salad...I'd put $ on Salad but the beer makes me nervous :D

Hoss Julia...love you gal, but you're too happy with life, and Bob.

Anxious or Gunkie....don't know them so no comment

Gene...M.?? If Gene M. he's on injured reserve I think.

Blitzo, as usual ?!, is the dark horse....I think he could come from behind and win the whole thing.

Not sure about the line on noshoes,Chez, or Nml8i

Radical can do it if he decides he wants it.

Fogarty....gotta listen to his coach, dedicate himself and GET IT DONE DUDE :D

Fattrad, could easily win... but wine, women and song may surpass his desires to win.

Edit: omg, how could I have missed your name fattrad ???? brain dead about covers it. Forgive me Sir who is the great Sahib that supplies the wonderful vino for Facelift.
