What is an "electronic cigarette." I've seen people sucking on the little tubes, but have no idea what is really happening. Are they burning tobacco, just in a different way? Or is it something else?

Ghost - basically it is mixing a condensed nicotine liquid with water vapor, effectively "smokeless".
We shall eventually see if it is less toxic than burning tobacco - I have my doubts...
