That still needs to be figured out.
The hot springs are about 20-30 minutes from Whitehall, which might be a bit far from the climbing to be the base camp.
There is developed camping around lake, but I think it's pay($) camping. There are group sites there though, as well as toilets.
Another option is basically anywhere along the Delmoe lake road. There are numerous free sites that can accommodate many people.
Perhaps Mojede or I can get out and snap some photos of potential sites.
I've been working on the google earth virtual guide/tour if people are interested in taking a look at the layer...it's still in the preliminary stages though...
Eventually when we do figure out the potential camping sites, I can link the photos to their geographic positions, so people can see where the camping is in relation to the climbing and the lake. It'll hopefully also give you an idea of what areas you want to check out...

Which hot springs? They still do nude night at Norris? Used to be Sunday night...
That'd be an option, too. Camp at Neat Rock. Could bbq up some rattlesnake... Revenue Spires...hmmm...
Silver Star?
New Biltmore is near the Beaverhead. Rumor, ahem, to be some climbing near there. Also rumored that an old, semi famous climber dude lives nearby (Herb S.). Some climbing near by in the T Roots and Rubies (but, not the sweet Boulder batholith stuff).
Spire Rock near Pipestone. Always wondered about the hot springs there...from an online source:
Pipestone Hot Springs
Preview: An abandoned hot springs with decaying resort buildings easily seen from a public road. A large quonset hut about 200 yards east of the road contains the swimming pool, which for a time was an open-air facility. A steady stream of hot water can be seen flowing from the pool building area, past the old guesthouse, under a footbridge, and then under the gravel road where you are standing. To the west of the road stand an old wooden dancing pavilion and a smaller drinking pavilion located over one of the springs. About a hundred yards southeast of the hotel, along the banks of Pipestone Creek, you might catch a glimpse of the 19 remaining guest cabins hidden downstream among tall cottonwoods. Developed, but in ruins.
Seems like there used to be a public campground (KOA?) near Pipestone too. Speakin' of Pipestone, ran into Jim Wilson a couple weeks ago here in SLC at the OR shoe...
On the other side of the fence, there's Jackson. Bit far to decent rock though. Neat place. Elkhorn, too. Pretty close to some alpine climbing if you don't mind some hiking... Pop down into the Wise River Club, say hi to the elk, get a burger and a beer...(toss a line, etc).
Tom, you, ahem, ain't never been to Warm Springs, have ya? Ha ha.
Spire Rock would be a great venue. What about up off Homestake?
Moose Creek: too bad there's not a big flat spot near the trailhead into the Wedge. Some room nearby, though, I'd imagine. And, there's a Blue Moon Saloon nearby too, I seem to recall...

The Biltmore has reopened?
I hadn't heard of Herb leaving JH.
Isn't there some hot spring setup in Boulder?

OK, I'm in. After taking the kids to the City of Rocks, immediately after school's out (June 5th I think) for a week, I'll send em home to practice more knots and head up to Butte. Might not arrive till the 16th or so.

Which hot springs?
Sorry, I should have been more clear. I was referring to the Renova AKA the Waterloo hotsprings, a bit south of Whitehall along the Jefferson River. (I marked it on the map in the OP)
The Pipestone hot springs, though closer, are unfortunately 'off-limits'...
The KOA type camping just off the Pipestone exit has also recently closed, complete with for sale signs...I guess it's hard with the abundance of free camping nearby...
I think somewhere along the Homestake Pass/Delmoe Lake Road would be the best bet. It's close the climbing and the lake(Delmoe) and both Whitehall and Butte are close. We could do it close to the King & Queen, or basically any number of clearings along the road.
I plan on getting out there this weekend, so maybe I can get a couple camping site shots...

Good to hear other are going to join in on the festivities. Right on! You've been added to the Official List™™™

TK-
Camping around spire isn't bad. If you want a big group together the 4 way intersection isn't bad. Flat anyway.
I think I have 3 or 4 guides left I can bring if you or Kevin remind me. I could also pick some up from Wilson or JoJo for people to buy (remember the profit from the rope climbing half of the book goes to Dwight's mom).
Also, Mountain Bikes are good fun and useful for Roof Rock or the front side of the Humbugs.

TK trying to figure a sequence to send.
Success.
Unfortunately, my camera batteries fell out during the crux mantle move.
The chalked up knob was the key to unlocking the problem.

I'm going to the Bozone sometime this week, and can shoot some possible locales on the way through with the kids.
What options were you thinking of, Tom ? Send me some GE pinmarks of suggestions and I'll hit those first.

yo Tom, are you creating a KML file or link in Google Earth for that map up thread?
I went in to GE and couldn't find anything in the community view for that part of Montucky.

Using technology to search out new climbing potential--brilliant. Makes the job of explorer/pioneer much easier.
By utilizing this resource, the Batholith crowd will never have to guess where to look for hidden gems and plums.
