Great pix. The ones of Tasmania made me google Tasmania and climbing. There seems to be lots of rock on that island.



Uh, further research shows that the three species of snakes on Tasmania are all venomous, including the highly toxic Tiger and Copperhead snakes. I think I'll pass on climbing there.


There it is again, my snakephobia slithering out from under the rock.


You know, I think there are some good cliffs in Ireland to climb instead (including some sea stacks/towers) and I am headed for Dalkey Quarry now.

2 mile approach from Johnsville.

2-3 pitches

Wide pitch overhanging chimney/corner 95+ degrees

Could be slightly friable and organic

Did several routes on the front side - pretty cool!

North Face is virgin
