Lituya! Your statement is hitting below the belt!

a.) Because he was elected. He's a president, not a dictator. Republicans seem to have a difficulty distinguishing between the two.
b.) Because most of the criticism is not justified. Not true. There has not been a single president in modern times who has failed to understand his office so poorly, carried out his duties so poorly, and made such continued threats to our democratic institutions.
c.) Because your choice was even worse. I have yet to hear a single persuasive argument that doesn't involve some fabricate right wing claim about Benghazi, Nancy Pelosi or alleged Bill Clinton cover up. Do you think she would have started a trade war, created a tax break only for the wealthy, met with Putin in private and threatened to overturn welcome established legal precedent?
Also, no one is trying to shout the other side down
Gimme a break! This site resides somewhere between a Prius bumper sticker (Fritz)and an ANTIFA riot (xCon). Still, I love the way liberals turn all lucid when they get schooled. Then you need to grow up and put your big boy pants on. For someone who has no problem making ad hominem attacks when you can't respond on the merits, you sure are a sniveling pussy. Get some callous or STFU.

Let's see--as a technical matter, the president does not overturn legal precedent, but assuming you mean appointing judges who would:
Yes, very big concern that Hillary's picks would gut the Constitution and overturn bedrock decisions such as Citizens United and Heller.
I'm not a big Trump guy (except for recognizing that the markets and economy seem to be doing extraordinarily well under his stewardship), but at least he's picking judges who will protect our Constitutional rights under the 1st and 2nd Amendments--we should all be thankful for that.

Originalpmac! Thank you. I was inspired by this 19th century photo of the patriotic Judge Winchell, on some Sierra summit, but I forgot a flag.

just like you sir are bothered by liberals. See how it works? neener neener neener. That is the level of your discourse.
The problem with your observation is that I don't air political grievances here. All I do is point out the inconsistencies and hypocrisy of liberals who, for whatever reason, feel compelled to rant here ad nauseam. And oh there is hypocrisy-a-plenty! Yes, I understand why it annoys you. Oh well.
Now, when you call an entire group of people idiots, morons, imbeciles, etc.--as liberals here are fond of doing--and claim intellectual superiority even as you ignore the most basic elements of the Style Guide (choose your favorite), well, that opens up a whole new set of problems IMO.
Still, I'm sure you're all very nice people in real life. ;-)

Now, please post up a photo of your Nissan Leaf! :-)

if only that were "all" that you were doing. You certainly think very highly of yourself.

How can you say Trump is "not good"? What is the basis for this?
This from CNBC:
"Donald Trump lifted the Dow Jones industrial average in his first year in office more than any other president since Franklin Roosevelt.
The Dow has surged more than 31 percent since Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20, 2017. That marks the index's best performance during a president's first year since Roosevelt."
Have I missed something? Been away a lot climbing and fishing and stuff, honestly haven't been following the news at all.....
I kind of like Trump, actually. Tired of all the "politician" types. He is a refreshing change. Strange, but refreshing.
And even you left-wing liberal Democrat types have to agree that ANYONE is better than that horrific woman Hillary.
I named my haulbag Hillary, by the way.
Happy Friday from the Great White North.

You can't divorce the economy from the debt. If I just gave you a million dollars, you would be a million dollars richer. Good for you! If that came at the cost of increasing the debt for everybody else, that would be good for you but bad for everyone else.

Trump should deploy marines in sanctuary cities and arrest all the politicians the are interfering in immigration law.
That would be prohibited by the Posse Comitatus Act.
That's going to increase U.S. wages when the scofflaws start to head south.
Which is why nothing has ever or will ever be done about illegal immigrants.
and BTW:
Even the crankiest of Democrats will have to admit that 4.1% GDP growth is good news. Faster growth is a tonic for much of what ails this country — it can help reduce the budget deficit (that is, if Republicans ever stop cutting taxes), shore up Social Security and Medicare, narrow income inequality and expand opportunity. It’s all good!
But here are a few other GDP numbers worth remembering: 4.6%, 4.9% and 5.1%. Those were the growth rates notched during President Obama’s tenure (in late 2011, the third quarter of 2014 and the second quarter of 2014, respectively). And no one’s celebrating how great the economy was in the Obama years.

True if some of the money fell into the hands of workers/consumers, rather than fat cats.
Where are Romney's and the OrangeClown's tax returns?
Mueller already has read them, can't wait for one of these other suits to force them out of the closet.

Only one problem, nothing he ever says is true.
Trump suggests economy could grow at 8 or 9 percent if he cuts the trade deficit
President Donald Trump told talk show host Sean Hannity that he could imagine the economy growing at eight or nine percent on Friday — just hours after the Bureau of Economic Analysis showed that the GDP rose 4.1 percent in the second quarter. The claim is far higher than economists predict.
The president said that the gains could come from cutting the nation's trade deficit "in half."
"I look forward to seeing next quarter … I think the 4.1 is just a stepping stone," Trump said.
Stripping out trade and inventory effects, final sales to domestic purchasers grew at a 3.9% annual rate, driven by a 4% increase in consumer spending. But these measures of underlying demand also might be slightly misleading as they reflect a catch-up from the first quarter. Final demand grew by 1.9% and consumer spending grew at an annual rate of just 0.5% in the first quarter, in part due to issues like harsh winter weather.
For now, the best thing to do is to look at the underlying trend in final demand. It is up 2.9% from a year earlier, which is better than the 2.4% this time last year, as well as the 2.3% rate it has averaged since the recession ended in 2009. That hardly counts as a boom, but it indicates the economy has gained a bit of momentum that ought to carry through the year.
