Saw Steve tonight after work. He looks good. Like said already, some challenges with words, but the ideas are right behind the brain/mouth connections. We chatted for about an hour or so.
I'm sure he would be stoked to have more visitors. I highly encourage it. Best thing for recovery would be languaged/verbal interaction. thx!
For any friends that want his email, hit me up. He lost a bunch of contacts in his phone a little while back. He also has a password reset issue on FB, so may not reply right away.

^Surely. Love ya GOD.
I wish Big Al would ask me to shimmy up the girth. I see him most days wrangling around in his big black chevy w/ the white topper. I knicknamed him CHP.

Hi Steve, I am hoping for your full recovery.
Mike Bolte posted this upthread, I had to laugh at how well it described most of us camping out in ST Land.
...he greeted me with a big smile and full sentence! He can string together five to eight word sentences, then get stuck on a word that comes out a bit crazy. Excellent use of all his body parts and he can write clearly although with the same curious thing that occasionally he substitutes a nonsense word for a real word. I think there was the same confusion in hearing some words too, so it required restating some questions.
So, I would post with abandon.
All the best. God speed.

So sorry to hear this.
But it sounds like you are well on the way to recovery, so we'll all look forward to steady progress back to full health.
Hang in!

Just got off the phone with Steve. He has his cell phone with him and can talk. He said he can walk a bit, so he retains some independence. They will be transferring him somewhere but he doesnt know where or when. He seemed to be in good spirits. He is a peach.

More than a few of us here on Supertopo have been, one way or another, where you are now Steve. Ain't no fun waking up in a hospital with no idea how you got there, or whether you'll ever walk out under your own power.
Fight the good fight, man, and know that every one of us who has been there is with you in spirit.

I have a friend who's father suffered a sudden stroke like this. He was unable to talk for a while, but amazingly he fully recovered and went back to work being a lawyer.
Way to set the bar low. Get way better than that Steve ;-)
