The base considers Powell to be a RINO so they don't care.

this has the ring of truth to it.

The repug base may think that of Powell, but that is not true of Americans in general, who really like the guy.

Did any of you read what Powell said?

He was referring to the retroactively classified e-mails. His point wasn't about the "110 e-mails in 52 e-mail chains have been determined by the owning agency to contain classified information at the time they were sent or received".

Yes I did read it and prove it that they were marked in a header as classified.

Eddy T..."Comey told the committee Clinton may not have had sufficiently sophisticated understanding to know the emails that passed through her personal server were classified. Only three of the 30,000 FBI-reviewed emails were explicitly** marked as classified and those were marked with a “C” in the body of the email, not in the header, Comey said.

Comey said his FBI team had conducted its investigation of Clinton “in an apolitical and professional way” and he had no reason to believe she had lied to the FBI. Clinton had said publicly she never sent or received any classified information.**

Move on, try to find something else to hit her with.

The latest CBS/NYT poll has Clinton and Trump tied going into conventions.

Heading into the two parties' conventions, the race for President is a dead heat, a change from last month when Hillary Clinton led by six points. Forty percent of registered voters now say they will back Clinton (a dip of three points), while 40 percent will vote for Trump (a bump up of three points). A month ago, Clinton led Trump 43 to 37 percent.

How could this happen?

actually there is supposed to be a prominent "C" in the topic heading to designate that an email was Classified

from my reading of the FBI's report none of the emails had that marking but instead the marking was within the body or context of the chain of individual emails

anyone who honestly has thought this through and still thinks it is a big deal simply is opposed to the idea of a female or a Democratic candidate for President in the first place

and based on the many many posts on all the supertopo threads we all know who the whining little bitches about this are

You brought it up. I pointed out how it was misleading.

Now, you're splitting hairs... and implying I'm the one dredging up old news. Too funny.

Edit: Norton's jumped on board, too. Yeehaw!

Incompetence is a poor excuse. The rules for conduct are quite clear. Apparently Ginsberg and Clinton feel they are above them

At one point, I thought Chump was the anti-Christ, but I soon realized he was too stupid. He is however, one of the most successful con-men ever. I give him a golf clap for that.

We watched The Big Short a couple nights ago on Netflix. Good movie.

A couple things:

Obama walked into a REALLY f*#ked situation (with the subprime mortgage collapse and ensuing recession). The fact that things have been as good as they have been (we have done better than the rest of the world despite the economic collapse beginning here, and we could have easily entered another great depression or worse) really means Obama (and even congress, at least at that time) aren't nearly as bad as many people make them out to be. W even deserves some credit. Many on the right hated the bailouts, but we would've gone down the tubes without them. What needed to happen was accountability after the bailouts, but that didn't happen.

The regulations that should have been enacted, after that mess haven't. Yes both parties are to blame, but obviously Republicans are much less interested in regulating wall street than the Dems.

I'll just point out that Trump has not denied that what Ms. Ginsburg said is true, he just complained that she shouldn't have said it in public.

In fact what she said is all true and like everybody here on the ST she is entitled to have, and to express, her personal opinions.

Not like none of them have opinions.

Let's all pretend they don't, right?

Zbrown you could not be more wrong. Even the lowliest govt worker is not supposed to give political opinions or endorse candidates. More so when they are supposed to be an impartial judge. Either she is senile and forgot or she to feels the rules do not apply to her

LOL, ok.

And of course government employees can have political opinions and volunteer on campaigns. They just can't advocate for candidates while on the job.
