We all hold you dear to our hearts as a brother climber who achieved what many of us aspired to, and now as a human being facing perhaps the most difficult challenge, a challenge that we all will face.
You will find your way through this, and no doubt in the style and grace we know you have.
Best wishes to you, and to all your loved ones. You will ever burn bright in our thoughts and our hearts.

Woody the Beaver wrote
Dear Jeff Lowe: On one of my better days, I was briefly mistaken for you! No joke! That was back in 1975 or somewhere in there, in Yosemite, and the resemblance was superficial: lots of hair, bandanna and conspicuous glasses. It was a fine day on Royal Arches, when I dragged myself and my hair onto the surprisingly crowded big ledge at the top of the Rotten Log Pitch and sat down heavily and started pulling up rope. I was still sputtering and muttering after the encounter with the saggy Log, which had wheezed rotten woodmeal into my face while I’d desperately clutched my way up the ghastly thing. From one of the resting climbers perching on the ledge, came an earnest, hopeful voice, tremulous with awe: “Are . . . you . . . Jeff . . . Lowe?????” For a few seconds, I planned to say yes, just for the glory, however ephemeral. But then came a huge, violent bray of laughter from one of the other inhabitants of the ledge: your cousin George, who knew too well what a duffer I was! To my intense irritation, George continued to laugh about this risible mistake for far too many minutes, his brassy honks of mirth bouncing off Washington Column and the Apron and Half Dome. For all I know, the echoes of George’s laughter are still rattling faintly over the Valley, wall to wall. I don’t think you and I ever met properly, but I would like to report to you what a fine example of honor and grace you’ve set for me then, after and now, and thank you for allowing me to enjoy the smooth burn of that brief and flattering confusion. I grew a foot that day, no matter what George thought! Thanks for all of it!
That's a fine bit of writing- one of the best I've read on this site.
I'll take a different route...
Jeff, you're a straight up legend and hero and we're pulling for you from all over the globe.
Best wishes sent from Tucson.

Good Question...
|
|
If we look at our lives and think to ourselves; have I been the person I wanted to be, have I made a difference, have I wasted my life, have I in my own small way made this place a little better, a little brighter...?
I know for me (and at least for so many others that have shared their thoughts here) that you have made my life richer by your presence and your energy though I have never met you in person.
A sincere appreciation and all the best in your current adventure in this fickle life of ours.

It was a pretty rough long night but Jeff finally got peaceful enough to sleep.
I read the Woody the Beaver post from ST to Jeff and two of his sister's and it cracked them all up.
Got a piece of pro in it sounds like!

Bump for the J-Lo night shift!!
Any comfort for Jello and Connie is good.
The tribe is beating the drums for you.
It's an odd rhythm, and weird, but we're here.
