But Clinton got caught red handed (remember the dress?) and then made it worse
by lying to the world about it, (poorly I would add)...
but I guess how one feels about the issue depends on
"what your definition of IS, is".

All he would have had to say when asked if he did have sex with
the overweight hose-bag is,
"Well yeah...haven't you seen my wife? Eeeew!"

I would have respected that answer...

(and now I'm a hypocrite for posting about politics...Damn!)

leb sez: "Why do I perceive Foley as a slime bucket yet neither Clinton nor McGreevey comes across that way to me. What is the key difference here. It is not party affiliation because I did not vote for either of them. What then?"

foley preyed on children. a fuking pediphile who should be castrated.
maybe that's the difference lois.

yep.

and it looks as though hastert protected the republican party by not doing the right thing for the pages.

which is why GWB is still suppoorting him. (because he can depend upon hastert to do the right thing for the party).

i believe that good communists did what was best for their party even though it was not in the best interest of the people as well....

edit:

just wtf has this to do with percocets and sex...

(Must resist Joke about needing Painkillers before sex.....)

The age difference between Monica and the pages was significant.

To be fair, the age of consent in DC is 16.

Someone in Hastert's position, when given information about sexual harrassment, have a obligation to properly follow up rather than sweep under the rug for political gain.

The Foley thing has been blown out of proportion, even though it's serious, and uncovers the less than righteous face of a polished GOP image.

The Iraq/civil rights/torture thing has been blown under proportion though.

Peace

er ist nicht hier.

jenny your e-perfume was spot on when you posted the pics of the babes on the kegs.

yeah, i spose we should not have burned poor MM at the cross. it certainly will provide fodder (for some) if he comes back and delivers a religious thread as he has in the past. but i say that he can come back and still be welcome.

locker should know that once the red flag goes up, natural instincts kick in. these are powerful and hard to predict. some of us do stupid things under the power of the red flag.

fattrad, lol, that does explain a lot. for sure.

LEB,
yes responsibility. not unlike those republicans nye (sp?) and cunningham who abused their power. maybe not for sex, but for money. they also hold a trust and are expected to behave responsibly.

but i digress. MountainMan, i would welcome you back.

Jenny, dirt is in the hospital? hope he gets well.

16 year old boys

versus

23 year old woman.

impressionable youth

versus

young adult (obviously still impressionable but IMO a huge difference.

one more thing. The House of Representatives IMO are RESPONSIBLE for the care and welfare of the page's in the page program.

probably both...

have you ever had children LEB?

i have a 22 yr old daughter and a 16 year old boy. i dont really care for my daughters BF, but hey, i dont have to live with him and since they live so far away i dont get to see them much.

my boy OTH. if he were in such a program, and if the providers of that program who were responsible for the kids well being did what these a&&wipes representatives did, i would be more than a little pissed off. and i am only talking about some prgram that took him away and was caring for him.

i dont remember how old he was.

now that you mention it, i was about 18 and slept with my sisters friend. she was about 25. no scarring there.

All I can say is it worked for me. I was 16, she was 27. Five years later we got married. Celebrated our 20th anniversary this year. Two kids, normal life, all good. Other people's mileage may vary.

LEB, the scarring issue may not have been an issue without all the publicity.

"Hawkeye,

Did I say anything about a 16 year old girl? As to children, you are correct, no. I am also going to say that if I had a teenage boy and a teenage girl, there would be some differences and there would also be some differences in how I would treat them. Somehow, I bet you don't treat the kids identically either.

Yes, yes, I know equality and all of that good jazz but the simple fact is that males and females are not identical in everyway.'

you can bet your ass, that if some congressman were sending such e-mails to my teenage son or daughter, I would react the same. NO difference.

I suspect most parents would react as i would.

roslyn, exactly.

there may be some differences. but i dont go give my son a high five because he has cute girlfriends. i dont encourage nor do i endorse him having sex at 16. this is one of those where the road i travelled has taught me that i hope he is better behaved than me. so far so good.

LEB, i posted this on the dirtbag question thread but i think you missed it,
"i am telling you that it is raining outside. you are telling me that it is not raining because you are in your cozy house and of course are not feeling the rain that is so obvious for those who are willing to look out the window at the world around them... "

same goes here. but alas, that is just my opinion.

LEB,
those are your differences between how you would treat your boy or girl.

you think all boys are bragging about it in the locker rooms and some girls arent? you dont think that some girls arent notching their lipstick case?

give me a break.

and i do concede one thing. that is the level of scarring is really dependant upon too many factors.

what i get from you is that a boy would be scarred less than a girl in a similar situation with an older person.

if they are underage, they are underage.

Lois, you're really generalizing here in an area that does not readily accept generalizations.
