Jan you are a lovely, vibrant 68 year old (hard to believe) and Steve.....Half Dome will be a cruise, just remember the only climbing command your son needs to remember, "up rope, i'm not moving."

Some thoughts about ageing and climbing:

I'm often asked where I grew up. My response.....pregnant pause and then, "grow up? I didn't , I'm a climber."

Aleister Crowley, climber, writer, black magician, being interviewed in the 1920's.
Interviewer....."Mr Crowley, what has been your ultimate ambition in life?"
Crowley......long pause, very thoughtful, "my ambition has been to extend my adolescence beyond all previous limits."

Good question malamute...think it is lumping some ages based on default number of bins...will be sure it doesn't happen in next update

edit: yep, stata default was treating the data as continuous and creating bins...switched to discrete and corrected the issue = nice catch!

I bump up the average.

I'm 62 and collecting social security.

However, a few years ago I read the book "Younger Next Year" about aging and postponing its processes. I decided his would be a goal of mine. I think I am doing a good job. Took my blood pressure and heart rate today. Heart rate = 46. BP way below normal. I am a better skier, golfer (and perhaps climber too) than at any other time of my life. Doing yoga nearly daily and can verify that I am more flexible now than any since my 40s. (Still not as flexible as when I was in my 20s however).

How about a thread along the lines of "How Many Years Did You Lose Last Year" for STer's who take on the goal of "Younger Next Year." If Arsenault climbs Half Dome, I think he can make a claim he's "Younger This Year."

Male female along with age could have also been interesting

that just won't be very accurate given the female prerogative of not saying/under-stating age...

My sister says I'm 17 going on 119. Young at heart, but very high miles! I'm turning 58 this August. One of my closest friends says you're only as old as the women you date. By his standards I'm doing really good!

I'm a whopping 55 years old...but since I was born 90 that really makes me 145 and explains why I am a grouchy old fart at times...at least according to my Mom, my ex, my kid and my current spouse.

But my dog loves me - so there!
