Why is paddle boarding being discussed in a climbing forum?

Useful for training purposes - but I'd never do it if I were not training for a different kinda paddling of some sort.

This guy don't need no paddle (or a board for that matter). Proper Wedge technique, taken today and pilfered off FBook:

Alright, so I finally tried it. I'll concede, it's pretty fun. The board I was on was both much faster and more stable than I would have guessed, but I'll be keeping my sea kayak, thank you very much. I actually raced my buddy, me in my boat and him on his board, and I whooped his ass. Oh, and I had to go backwards as my handicap.

Whooped.
His.
Ass.

...

Backwards.

I finally tried it too. It was more challenging to stand than I thought it would be. It's almost like slacklining (but much easier) you have to pay attention to your balance the whole time.

I was on the Colorado River the last three days and finally tried out SUP. I don't know why it is called stand up paddleboarding. I spent a whole lot more time falling into the water than standing up. But it was actually pretty fun, especially in small rapids.

I think I'll try it again.
